Trip to Arizona & California {April 2017}

We have barely seen the sun and it has been the harshest wettest winter in Portland in 75 years... WHAAAAAAT????! Yes you read that right... It just so happened to be our FIRST Winter here too.. Nothing like a Welcome to our city right?! In a nutshell, I have been going CRAZY being inside and if we went anywhere, you got completely drenched. Between being pregnant and trying to keep a toddler entertained INSIDE 24/7, I was on the verge of a meltdown. Seriously, I missed the sun and light and happiness of blue skies! I have never seen so much gray in all my life... Anyways, so we wanted to do a fun trip to enjoy some sun and have some fun before our little Savannah girl makes her entrance! We went to visit family in Phoenix, Arizona, which is also where I grew up! We also snuck over to CA for a few days to enjoy the beach and Sea World too. And if THAT wasn't fun filled enough, it was Easter also while we were there! Get ready for a picture overload, I couldn't miss any details of this adventure :)

She was so excited for the plane ride alone to go see Sami! She talked about it for DAYS! I just kept thinking to myself , If she only knew the fun that was about to go down for this week of vacation!

We got on the plane and Adalynn pulled out the pamphlet and said, "Look mom, it's great grandma!!!" ha ha!!!

She got to watch the movie Trolls on the plane and was in heaven :) Off we go!

We flew into Phoenix around 1130pm and by the time we got our rental car and got the my Aunt and Uncle's house, it was the better part of 1 in the morning... Ugh! We quickly crashed so we could get up at 6am to leave to CA which was a 5.5 hr drive. My cousin Sami also got to tag along with us for some beach and SeaWorld fun too! Adalynn was soooo excited :)

Welcome to CA!

Before we hit the beach, we stopped at a little Mexican food shack on the boardwalk for some lunch. The shrimp tacos were soooooo good!! Adalynn and Sami weren't havin fun or anything either... ha ha

Gorgeous flowers on the boardwalk!

Our beautiful view for the day! We went to Ocean Beach! The majority of the day was sunny and warm mixed with a few overcast moments. Overall it was amazing!

I can't even describe the pure happiness of this sweet girl while we were there.... She was pretty much born a fish and it melted my heart to see her so happy! She jumped and splashed in the water while giggling like CRAZY, followed by getting totally messy in the sand! I kind of just want to plaster beach pictures all over the house after having captured SO many shots of her pure beach joy. It broke my heart when we had to leave, but boy did she have a blast!

With sand in literally every crevice, the wash off process wasn't too fun!

Hotel Swimming!

Aaaaand the aftermath of beach day :)

Day 2 of vacation... Sea World!!!!
Love love this pic!

The fish touch pools!

Adalynn could have stayed in the Elmo playland all day! Tons of cool splash pads, rides, climbing jungle gyms, and so much more!

We sure loved the dolphin show!!

Adalynn has always LOVED turtles, so the turtle and fish tanks were quite the hit!

We got a cool souvenir cup to refill all day. Adalynn was thrilled that it had a cool dolphin on it and had to be the one to carry it around :)

Her FAVORITE place at SeaWorld..... the SHARKS! Whhhattttt?! Yep, for reals. We even had to come back to see them again!

She couldn't stop pointing at them and it was the cutest thing everrrr!

Another one of her favorites was the flamingos! They were fighting like crazy and she was fascinated by that ha ha

Can't get enough of this cute girl!

The highlight of her lunch was feeding the ducks some of her french fries. She kept saying, "Look mom! They ate the WHOLE thing!"

While waiting for a show, we stopped at the dolphin pools. You could watch them underwater and even put your hand out to touch them!

Waiting for the sea lion show! It was way funny!

We ended with the Shamoo show :)

Didn't even make it out of the parking lot before.......

They were out!

And in minutes it moved to this... ha ha!!

Long 5.5 hour drive back to Phoenix, but there was more fun waiting for us there!

The next day we went and watched Dallin play basketball and Aunt Sherri and Sam showed Adalynn how to dye Easter Eggs. She was thrilled. It was cut a little short because of our night time fun, but she had a blast!

My uncle works at the Arena and he always spoils us with awesome tickets for events when we come! He got us great seats for Disney on Ice, the princess show! Adalynn was in heaven! So hard to get a good pic in the dark, but that smile on her face is to die for!

We forgot her favorite "flower blankie" at home and she was quite devastated. Luckily Sami came to the rescue with a snuggly teddy bear!

The Easter bunny followed her all the way to Arizona!

Adalynn woke up SO excited to go find Easter Eggs and see her basket! It was a nice and sunny morning to hunt eggs :)

Silly bunny hid a GREEN egg in the GREEN plant and Adalynn was sure there was nothing in there! Jordan had to convince her over and over to keep looking :)

She wanted to open every egg right when she found it to see exactly what candy was inside ha ha!

Showin' Uncle Trent the goods!

We had a beautiful Easter Sunday at church and even got to see Sami give her FIRST talk in Sacrament Meeting!

After church, we went over to Aunt Sherri's Parent's house for a yummy Easter dinner and egg hunt! All smiles for more family time and eggs! Such a cutie pie <3 She crashed HARRRRRRD after such a fun filled day!

Last day of vacation and we started it off at the park before it got too hot! Crazy that I used to play at this SAME park when I was little.

Can't pass up In-N-Out one more time before we leave! Dallin and Sami didn't have school either so we partied hard with them!

Afternoon dip in the pool was in order as well. It was about 90 degrees out and we were soaking in the sunshine before we had to head back to rainy 50 degree weather....

What water balloons are good for right??! "Look at my boobs mom!" We were all dyin!!!!

We relaxed and BBQ'd the rest of the night in the backyard and it was so fun! We love visiting the Dutry's and couldn't have packed in any more fun while we were there!

Early flight, but she is a morning girl :) Bye Phoenix!! It's been real!! #PortlandorBust
