How did our sweet girl turn THREE years old over night??! Ugh I am still trying to wrap my head around that!! I still remember the day she was born like it was yesterday! Every detail, every "first", every phrase, you name it..... She has brought soooo much love and happiness into our home and changed our lives in a million ways! It was different this year not being close to family to celebrate, but we made sure to have a blast anyways and celebrate just how special she is!
3 has never looked so cute :) Her first words when she woke up were, "Can I eat da cake now?!" I was cracking up! #foodfirst ha ha girl after my own heart! She had been asking for a long time when her birthday was, so she was beyond excited to wake up to a room full of balloons on her special day! We had so many fun plans ahead!
SO many fun little touches that she was ecstatic about! She went back and forth through her room doorway streamers a thousand times!
I wanted to make a fun birthday breakfast for her at home and looked up tons of fun kid friendly ideas... but eventually I just accepted the fact that she would be thrilled to just go to Krispy Kreme and have her favorite strawberry doughnut with sprinkles. So we did just that and it was awesome! She was so giddy and it really nailed the fact that this day was all about HER! I mean seriously... LOOK at that face!!
Can't forget the milk lol That is just as important as the doughnut!
We came home and hurried to get dressed because well let's face it.... Presents were waiting to be opened and if we didn't do them then, we would hear ALL day about it :)
Of course her birthday outfit of the day was on point!! Can you tell how excited she is?!
Aaaaand on to the presents!! Oh boy did she get TOTALLY spoiled between Mom & Dad and SO much family! She is such a lucky girl and so loved! Clothes, swim toys, books, a big wheel, puzzles, play doh, and tons more! Just when she thought she was done opening, Daddy brought in a special surprise... A big girl bike!!! Of course she had to fasten her helmet and go ride it right then :)
Ok so I took a few pictures of her learning to ride.....and then I couldn't stop ha ha
It was ridiculously cute and every single time she went by me, she had a larger than life smile yelling, "Look at me Mom!!!" I couldn't help but keep snapping away, Jordan was so patient with her, showing her how to balance and where to put her feet. That was just as heart melting as watching her ride. It took her all of 5 minutes for her to get it down before she was racing up and down the street while Jordan ran alongside her! She showed no mercy when he was out of breath ha ha So here is the picture overload summary... I'm so grateful for pictures! You can totally see the story through these :)
Jordan finally convinced her to take a break from riding, so they settle on playing with her new catch it mitts in the house.. That concentration and readiness kills me! lol
Lunchtime didn't disappoint because well, her favorite is Chick-Fil-A and so that's where we went! We spent the afternoon at an indoor waterpark because well, we all know that she is a total FISH! We all had so much fun and the smiles were endless!
They had a smaller waterslide for the toddler area and Adalynn must have went down it 100x! As much as I get annoyed with how big my "big" camera is.... I totally love it for days like this, where I can get crystal clear zoomed in action shots of all of her facial expressions :)
These 2 are my world! Happy prego mama to take pics and splash with these 2 :)
A quick nap and moving on to cake! I have to be honest, at this point, we were all SO SO SO SO exhausted! We all napped and got up just in time for friends to come over for cake Adalynn even came down from her nap crying saying how tired she still was. It was sad and yet so cute at the same time ha ha. She quickly perked up when she saw her awesome Moana cake that she had asked for!
After looking forward to this ALL day, she happily scarfed down her cake and icecream!
Our good friends the VanAusdals :) Adalynn specifically requested Ruby and Dia come to eat cake with her ha ha
They brought her some Monsters Inc figurines and a fun little bag with her name on it :)
Well that was her birthday..... WHEW! We all slept super good that night! Despite being worn out, we couldn't have asked for a better day to celebrate our new THREENAGER!!
See her 3 year old Pictures and Stats following this post!
