Hard to believe that it has been a month and a half since I have updated the blog, but as usual, I have a lot to catch up on! I am so excited that this will be my last blog update before we will get to meet our sweet baby girl and then the blog will be getting a complete redo as a family of 3 now with updated pictures and info!! Can't wait!! So here we go starting back in March with all our shenanigans :)
The end of last month was the last time I was able to go with Jordan on call to Spokane. Such a bittersweet trip, but it was fun to get the last few baby items and pick up some fun photography props for pictures! He just went for this month without me and took a friend so now he is home free till D-day!
In case you missed all the pictures, the baby room has been finished for a couple of weeks and I am SOOOOOO thrilled how it turned out!! Jordan jokes that it is an "assault" on his senses because of all the bright colors. Ugh guys! I love everything about it and it is perfect for our little princess :) Some days I enjoy just winding up the crib mobile, sitting in the swivel glider, and just taking it all in! Still so surreal to finally be a mom soon. Here is some pics of the room :)
The end of March, we had our childbirth class on the weekend and what a ride that was! Jordan was hilarious and had me laughing non stop! My favorite quote after the first day was "Um I don't know if I can handle this..." After Day 2 he was a pro and is ready for the big day!
Here is a snapshot of me around 35 weeks at work looking seriously pregnant!
I have struggled in the 3rd trimester with swelling BIG time! The Doctor has been watching me closely for preeclampsia because of how out of control my swelling has been! I only can wear flip flops now thanks to my cankles! hot huh?! I tried to brave some strappy sandals a few weeks ago for church and Jordan ended up having to peel them off my feet afterwards only to reveal all the strap marks! yikes! Needless to say, I have stuck to flip flops since them. No need to be hero lol :)
Just a quick random shot of this cutie....Can't get enough of him!
Once we hit the last month, I figured I better get all packed so that we were completely ready to head to the hospital when it was time. I also installed the car seat base and the car pull down shade... Jordan just had to make some smart comments of how hot it looked that I was sporting a kiddie shade while driving a sports car around town. Yeah it dulls the flashiness a little, but I will get over it :) She is worth it! We are all ready!
So on March 26th, Jordan turned the big 27!!! For his big day, he went to Vegas with some guy buddies the following weekend for a little getaway :) He had a blast with his friends and came home pooped! He flew out of Boise and I continued on to Twin Falls for the weekend to spend some time with my mom and scrapbook! It was so much fun just us girls! We went to lunch, did some shopping, and she even treated me to a massage :) Yeah this prego mama was in heaven!! Always love time with family. Short weekend, but I headed back to pick up Jordan in Boise and we headed home. Must have had a good time because right after picking him up, he was out asleep!
Even after we got back home, it was no dull moment at our house! We got new carpet in our house and I have to admit, the OCD in me was so thrilled to finally be able to see vacuum marks in the carpet!!! Yeah I was so happy :) Jordan is already pretty dang cute, but when I catch him putting the vacuum to good use, it's like falling in love all over again!
Beings that so many things will be changing soon, I have tried to do fun little things while being at home for the last few weeks of the pregnancy. I love Saturdays at home and especially starting them out with a big yummy homemade breakfast!!
After getting a few things all squared away, I finally typed up the "labor list" and put it on the fridge for last minute stuff to grab on our way out the door and people to call. Jordan came in the next day and was like "are you serious right now??" I had no clue what he was talking about. He was like "Geez I tried to read that list on the fridge and you put it in some sissy cursive font that took me like 10 minutes to read it all! We won't have that kind of time when you are in labor! What ever happened to Times New Roman? You better retype that up!" I was laughing so hard.... Looks like I will be the one to "read" it to him as we head out the door lol Gah he is such a character!
The weather lately has been great outside! It has warmed up quite a bit and we have been able to go on walks and play at the park with friends and their kids :)
Well last week I was officially DONE with work! Ahhh what a crazy feeling! Hard to say bye, but so grateful to be able to be home and enjoy our little girl and being a mom!
So I am just a little excited about this last minute baby purchase :) While we were getting all the necessities for the baby, I looked into the video monitors, but the prices were outrageous and I just didn't see the need when basic monitors worked just fine for the price difference. Well we happened to see some video monitors that our friends had, and I LOVED them! You can see if they are actually awake or just making noises in their sleep. You can also talk to them through the monitor and play lullabies. Cool huh?! Well we had a few amazon gift cards sent to us and those monitors just happened to be on an AMAZING deal, so I ordered them and am so excited to use them! Nothing beats peace of mind at a great price :)
Ok so setting all the "fun" baby stuff aside, these last few weeks have been no cake walk!! I am now 38 weeks and counting down the days... literally. Miserable is an understatement! I am to the point where EVERYTHING is uncomfortable whether sitting, standing, walking, you name it! Sleeping is by far the worst.... I don't sleep at all hardly and the pressure on my hips and pelvis is insane! So ready to be done! At our doctor's appointment last week, I was 70% effaced, but not dialated yet. All last week I walked a bunch and ended up having contractions 2 different days so I got a bit excited thinking it might be it, but no luck :( Jordan was happy that they stopped beings that he had to be in Spokane on call this past weekend. I stayed home and hung out with nothing eventful happening. We went back in to the doctor this morning and I am still 70% effaced and only dialated to a 1. Needless to say I was SUPER bummed! Being this miserable, that isn't exactly what you wanna hear. On another note, my blood pressure was pretty high so he told me to take it easy otherwise I would be ordered to be on bed rest. Awesome huh?! I have to go back in on Thursday to have it check again, so hopefully I can just take it easy the next few days... Or go into labor.... that would be fabulous too! Fat chance though :(
Well in the meantime, the NBA playoffs are in full swing and that means an outlet for Jordan! Honestly this whole "last few weeks" thing has turned me into a bear and he has been a trooper just grinning through it all and helping me do whatever I need to including complaining and whining. I had to laugh the other night, he had a friend over and it just happened to be dinner time while the game was on... and yeah the whole table migrated in front of the big screen. They don't mess around! ugghh boys! So funny :)
Can't wait to update the blog after the baby is here so stay tuned!!
Love,
Jordan & Elise
