Baby Showers and on the HOME stretch!!

It has been an exciting few weeks and getting ready for our princess!

We headed to our last trip to Twin Falls before the baby is here for a fun shower with friends and family from home :) It was so much fun! I can't say the same for the drive, but I survived ha ha After a few hours into the drive of the 7 hour trip, I had already ditched the shoes and had my feet on the dashboard. Quite the drive and pregnancy just adds to the fun of it!

My mom, my mother-in-law, and sister-in-law did the baby shower in Twin. We are so blessed with such great friends and family! So many people came to support us in this new venture and we couldn't be more grateful! Baby girl was sure spoiled big time and is outfitted to the nines. She will be stylin for sure! The boys hung cabinets and did projects out at Eric's house while the girls partied hard at the shower. Short and sweet trip that is for sure! We won't be back in twin till after the baby is born.7 more weeks till D-day! Here is a few shots from the shower!

Our car was packed to come home and Jordan was little worried that all he could see was pink out the back window :)

We came home from Twin Falls and I dived into some painting projects for the room! Jordan has been so busy with work so I strapped on a mask and went to town! My mother in law painted the end table while we were in Twin Falls, and I added another coat and some turquoise stripes. I also got a shelf painted for above the crib and gave some antique windows a little TLC :) Happy with how it all turned out, but in the end, paint is NOT My friend!

So a bit of an exciting story.... We ordered the baby furniture set a little over a month ago and the crib was actually out of stock and had to be special ordered! They told us that it would take 12 weeks to get here, which would put that right at my due date. YIKES! But we loved THAT crib and nevertheless ordered it, hoping it would make it here in time for her arrival. We had checked on the progress several times and no news. Last week Jordan called me at work and they had called to tell him the crib was in!!! I was so excited!! SO grateful that it only took 6 weeks instead of 12. Hallelujah! We had plans to pick the set up and the chair in a few weeks when were on call for Jordan's work next. That upcoming weekend was a small baby shower in Lewiston with close friends. A few days later, last Friday night, Jordan told me that he had made plans to hang with his buddy and play in a basketball tournament. Knowing that I was DYING to start on the room, he secretly drove up to Spokane with Jon, picked up the baby furniture, and brought it home to put together. While I was extremely mad at the time being left home alone on a Friday night and the fact that NONE of his story made sense, but in the end it was the thought of the surprise and I was THRILLED!!!! The next day, I headed to the baby shower in Lewiston and all the guys came over to assemble all the furniture. I spent the next few days going to town on the room and getting everything organized and put away. Here is a sneak peek at her hot pink and turquoise room! Nothing is on the walls yet, but its a start :) Can't wait for the room reveal in a few weeks when everything is complete!! I also got all her newborn and 0-3 month clothes and blankets washed. Whew! She already has quite the wardrobe!!

Another funny story... Quite the bad day actually, but I can laugh about it now! I went to head to work one day and all my maternity pants were in the wash. Perfect! So I had the bright idea to literally attempt to pour myself into my pre pregnancy jeans... yeah not the smartest move! I later found that the battery in our new car was dead. It was quite the day! I ended up taking the day off work and later running errands with Jordan's car. I came home late afternoon to find that my big pregnant booty had ripped a nice giant hole in the back crotch of my pants.... and the best part was that NO ONE TOLD ME! So yes, the people of Walmart, Costco, and the Nissan dealership got a nice view of my behind. After that day from you know where, all I could do was laugh..... Bye Bye Silver jeans!!

I am coming up on 33 weeks in a few days which means only 7 weeks left till we get to meet our little girl!!!! I can hardly stand it!!

We have registered for our childbirth class which is in a few weeks and are trying to tie up all the loose ends :) It is SO amazing how much personality she has already and she's not even here yet!
She is highly sensitive to sounds, specifically daddy's yells at basketball games on TV, the motor of the kitchenaid, and the buzzing noise of the backburn clippers for Jordan's haircuts :) She will literally freak out at loud noises and is easily startled. That means my insides are sore most of the time. Also anything that rests on my stomach, she will kick in that specific spot until you move it such as the table pushed up to my belly, my arms resting on my stomach, or even dad's hand on my belly. Girl likes her space I guess!

She is in the "body roll" stage that is for sure! Forget the swift kicks most of the time! My stomach is rock hard and she now rolls across my belly and you can feel her whole body on both sides of my stomach at the same time! You can even see it on the outside too :) Such a big girl! Feels so weird though... She is around 4 pounds right now. WOW! Feels like a bowling ball is resting on my pelvic bone....

Another fun quirk, baby girl has her momma on a strict schedule already! It NEVER fails, right when we crawl in bed between 11 and 12, she finds it convenient to do flips. Daddy jokes that she is doing her P90X workout and it takes a while for her to settle down before I can sleep. Then come 7am she is up and at 'em again! Before I was pregnant, I could sleep in till 10 if you let me. Now once 7am comes around, I might as well just get up because she is alive and kicking like crazy!

So excited to meet the little girl that has turned our world upside down and has so much personality! I can't help but think about what she will look like, how much hair she will have, and just how terrified I am about the labor/delivery process. Ah the joys of pregnancy!

Our weather has really warmed up and I have broke out the capris and flip flops! Yay for warmer weather!!

Last but not least, we are down to doctor visits every few weeks! I had to go in last week for some severe swelling on my feet though :( It hadn't gone down in 3 days and was  larger than normal! They are watching my blood pressure and protein in my urine closely for preeclampsia, but I am grateful for a healthy pregnancy so far! We are just staying hopeful that all will be well until she arrives :)

I am still working full time managing the dental office and doing tons of training for while I am gone on Maternity leave. I will be working for about another 5 weeks and then will have the last few weeks to relax and prepare for baby. Time flies! Hard to believe that we are almost done already!!

In a few weeks, Jordan will be on call in Spokane and that will be my last trip with him before the birth! Excited to get the last few items bought so I can relax the last month or so :) Our lives are going to be changing very soon and I can't wait to see what our future holds!

Love,
Jordan & Elise
