December and One Heck of a {Christmas} trip

Oh boy where do I start with our December... It kicked our butts plain and simple! I was still really sick and had been since Halloween on top of being pregnant to boot... Little did we know that was only the beginning of our never ending December. Ok in between all the horribleness, we had some fun too ;)

This booger got totally spoiled by Grandma Morrow. While my family was here visiting for Thanksgiving, my mom brought Adalynn a December advent calendar full of special treats, one for each day. She was anxious to start and was so excited every morning to "do her calendar." It was a nice change to help her forget to ask me everyday if she could open a present from under the tree! ha ha  Some of the things that were in there were pez candies, chocolate santas, mini trains, nailpolish, hair clips, stickers, chapstick, and so much more!

Daddy had to go to the coast for a few days to help out an account he sold, so we got to come up on the 2nd day and party with him and party at the hotel! She was so excited to go, but just couldn't stay awake on the way there to see him. She was so cute snoozing away!

Can't beat hotel swimming! Jordan threw her up in the air over and over again in between her swimming around and jumping off the side of the pool. I got tons of videos with the biggest smiles I have ever seen. He is the best daddy and she just adores him <3

Hotel snuggle buddies by the fire! Adalynn got her very own pull out couch to sleep on by the fireplace as well as a perfect view of cartoons on the TV. She was thrilled :)

2 things I LOVE... This curly sue and waking up to the ocean!

We headed home the next day ahead of Jordan and took the measly 22 mile detour to visit Hobby Lobby! Oh how I love having a little best friend and shopping buddy to do fun stuff with!

Little Christmas cutie! We went to a craft fair and she was so cute, I could barely handle it! Heeled boots, Christmas outfit, sparkly bow, AND even bow earrings. Talk about grown up!

Chilly Sunday morning stories with daddy, bedhead and all!

On December 5th, we went in for our ultrasound to find out the gender of baby #2!

Santa came early, more {RUFFLES} are on the way;
Adalynn will have a new baby {SISTER} to laugh with and play!
#itsagirl

Always an audience in the tub! She LOVES to line up all her characters and name them all.

Gotta love the mid bath potty break that is needed ha ha! Her face cracked me up so much, I had to hurry and grab a pic with the soap in her hair too! I better just be glad that she has never been one to go in the tub and always makes sure to say when she needs to get out to go.

Don't know how I ever lived without this girl! Love her to the moon!

This girl was DYING to build a snowman and the snow finally started coming down! This winter has been quite the doozy for the Portland area. It normally never snows here, but this year has been quite the exception! She was glued to the window in awe as the snow fell. I live for these moments of joy & wonder!

Daddy got home early and made her day to finally get to go play in the snow! LOVE these two!

Throwing snowballs and catching flakes on her tongue! Such a hoot to watch her :) She threw a snowball and then yelled, "Yeah babyyy!" ha ha ha ha

Oh what a fun afternoon it was with these goobers! My heart was exploding!

Dad for the big win! Blanket fort complete with Christmas lights all inside! Talk about a party :) Adalynn was soooo excited and spent the rest of the night playing in it with him <3 Did I mention that he is the best dad ever?

Note the lovely date on this screenshot.... December 11th! That means I had almost been sick for 2 months straight. Coughing up a lung, feeling cruddy, and just not getting better. It had been diagnosed as bronchitis previously, but then my cough relapsed right after Thanksgiving after almost being gone. This particular morning I woke up with an entire red throat, my tongue was GREEN, and my taste buds were peeling off thanks to all the gunk draining in my throat! Yeah so I headed back into the urgent care to find out that I had walking pneumonia! Unreal! I was beyond miserable between being sick and being pregnant on top of that.....

The only pretty part of my trip to urgent care was a beautiful rainbow that spanned the whole sky!

Apparently coloring naked is where it's at! ha ha ha

Adalynn sure loves dance class and was thrilled to get to fingerpaint Miss Darcy's Pallet Christmas tree! She always has such fun things for her classes!

Adalynn and her best friend Ruby

Lunch date with daddy at Buffalo Wild Wings <3 Such a happy smiley girl!

We ventured out to the Clackamas mall and she fell in love with the toys there! Who doesn't love a treehouse slide?!

She always seems to find a cute friend to have fun with!

Wild sleeper alert!

I barely mention listening to the baby's heartbeat and she comes RUNNING with the gel ready to go! Literally running... It is the cutest thing ever! It has been such a blessing to be able to listen to the baby's heartbeat regularly at home with the doppler. It calmed my anxiety so much that was ok, especially being so sick with pneumonia!
That FRO of CURLS kills me everytime!! Her hair LOVES the blow dryer on those cold Winter nights after showering!

That cute smile kills me too ;)

Seriously look at that! Now compare it to the picture below from when I was her age! She's not mine or anything.... ha ha

Everything is better with friends especially forts! We love Ruby and Dia!

Finally feeling a tiny bit better after FIVE days from going into urgent care! I was dying to be back to normal, but still had quite a ways to go with my crazy horse cough. Felt good to freshen up and get out for a change!

Ohhh that bedhead!! Only a momma could love that out of control fro :)

Christmas shopping at Clackamas Mall and of course we had to make a pit stop at the carousel!

Made sure to visit Santa at our ward Christmas Party! Adalynn walked right up and asked for a "dollyhouse." It was pretty cute and that cheeser smile made it so much sweeter!

What space heaters are for.... keeping your belly warm ha ha! It was an extra cold morning apparently ;)

Dance class Thursdays with Miss Darcy! Working on "pizza feet" :)

Just reading to Buzz. Nbd. <3

Some days, you gotta make your own sunshine! Lunch picnic upstairs in the playroom for the win :) The rainy cloudy depressing weather can't stop us!

Adalynn got to open one of her presents from us early for the long drive to Twin Falls! She was nothing short of thrilled to get car DVD players and the movie Zootopia! Christmas in Twin Falls, here we come!

Adalynn's Christmas Dance Recital
She totallly killed it and looked so darn cute in her little outfit! I was so proud of her! She LOVES her teacher Miss Darcy and I do too <3

Dance is always better with your best friend! Ruby and Adalynn are best buds and love that they are in the same class together!

Oh how cute these girlies were! The outtakes were just as fun! They have come so far and the video was to die for <3

Getting her ornament and hug from Miss Darcy after the performance :)

And we are off to Twin Falls for Christmas! It was a challenge to get it all to fit in the car we borrowed to make the trip, but we made it work and were so excited to get on the road! We left super early and got a rocky start. Our Maxima was having issues and we left later than we wanted... We hoped that wasn't an indication of how our trip was going to go! Adalynn was rearing to go with excitement when we left, but didn't last long. As soon as the sun came up, she zonked back out for a bit.

We left early already anticipating bad roads that would take longer due to the snow and freezing rain, but we didn't anticipate what happened next..... We ended up stranded on I-84 just outside of Pendleton. They close the freeway in both directions due to bad roads, horrible conditions in the passes, and accidents. We were totally wiped and tired waiting and waiting forever on the side of the road! We ended up waiting about 5 hours before they thankfully let us through. The passes were horrid still and took forever. What should have taken us 8.5 hours ended up taking us almost 16 hours to get to Twin Falls! We got there just before midnight and were so thankful to have made it safe!

We took a break from waiting for the road to open and grabbed some lunch. Adalynn didn't mind getting a big icecream.... and using a fork to eat it. How many 2 year olds do you know that do that?!

Christmas Eve and we took Adalynn to see her first movie, Sing, in the theatre! She was just thrilled to share popcorn with Uncle Eric ha ha

Merry Christmas Eve from our family! The cute people are my whole world!!
Christmas Eve at Grandma Rice's House with all the family :)

Leave it to Riley for a good laugh!

Gift Exchange fun!

Taking turns doing the saran wrap game. So many laughs and so intense!

Adalynn got a doll and bath buckets from Great Gma and Gmpa Rice!

All set in her Christmas jammies and ready for Santa to Come!

HO HO HO... Santa came!

Check out her stocking :)

Santa brought her a dollhouse that she asked for and it was a hit! She played with it non-stop!

Showing Aunt Kerin her bling that she got!

Showing uncle Nolan her Ariel bath toys :)

Mickey Mouse Clubhouse board game!

Another big hit of Christmas :) Her Daniel Tiger Trolley and Characters from mom and dad!

Christmas morning was so much fun, she crashed HARD for a nap!

Looking sharp and festive for Church!

Oh boy Adalynn was obsessed with Grandma's singing reindeer! She rode it all over the house while it sang "Grandma got run over by a reindeer" ha ha!

Grandma caught this sweet moment of Adalynn "rocking" Piglet.... Couldn't be any cuter!

More presents! We sure are spoiled by all our family!

Morning dip in Grandma Martitz's tub! If that wasn't enough fun, she got to play at Jump time with Aunt Kerin right after :)

Vacation is hard work! 10 days in Twin Falls was off to a fun start!

Adalynn watched the Lion King for the first time with Papa.... Her face says it all! We skipped over the dramatic death of Mufasa from there on out because well..... look at her face! Can you say intense?!

We stopped to watch Great Grandpa Frenchy bowl in his bowling league. Adalynn was in heaven watching while eating her fries and ranch. She would occasionally yell, "Good job Grandpa!" It was pretty darn cute :)

She loved napping in Grandma Morrows big bed!

She found a favorite book while at Grandma's..... The garfield book! Was one of my favorites when I was little too. Her face cracks me up! She concentrated so hard....

McAllister's Deli for NaJean's birthday on the 30th! Gang's all there and the food was yummy too!

Pair of goofballs caught making faces at each other!

Every year, we make sure to have a basketball game mashup with everyone!

The whole basketball gang! They also did a fun volleyball game another night too!

My mom and Grandma practiced their selfies on the stage ha ha!

The cheerleaders! Adalynn wasn't feeling good so I had to skip out early from watching :(

New Year's Eve Mini Golfing with the fam! Adalynn had so much fun and did really good! She hit it in several times all by herself and kept trying to do it from farther and farther away :)

Rang in the New Year with this hunk and hanging out with my family! Everyone had fun playing games and getting stuffed with super yummy food!

The firework shot off at midnight!

Darts! Eric was red hot and dominated :)

Happy New Year!!!!!!!!
