Boy it has been one heck of an amazing Summer! We had got the itch to take Adalynn to the beach and with some crazy travel deals, we decided to make a vacation out of it and even take her to Disneyland! She was SO excited and talked about it non-stop for weeks until we left. Everything from the airplane ride, to visiting uncle Jack, to going to Disneyland, and of course the beach, she was more than ready! The day finally came and we were off to our adventure :)
She was quite the monkey in the airport! Prancing on the moving sidewalks and being a cheeser checking the departures! I've never been so happy to see that little Doc McStuffins backpack bouncing around!
The look on her face when she realized there was MORE moving sidewalks she would get to ride on! ha ha! We were dyin.....
Safety first after getting buckled :) How is she even old enough to have her own seat???! Ugh...
Almost ready to take off... Family time is the best!!
She anxiously looked out the window waiting for the plane to move. I love seeing the wonder and excitement in her!
The sunset on the way to LAX was so amazing! Pictures don't even capture the full extent of it! It was like the whole sky was on fire with orange! SO pretty!
We hit the ground running the next morning and headed for the happiest place on Earth! She could barely contain her excitement even BEFORE we got into the actual park! She was going crazy over everyone's Minnie & Mickey shirts, hats, backpacks, you name it! I used to the think that Disneyland was the BEST thing ever... Nah, it's taking YOUR kids to Disneyland!!
Welcome to Disneyland baby girl <3
Nemo submarine was our first stop! And lemme be real, she is STILL talking about this ride! Of course, a family selfie is necessary :) We were so happy to be there!
It's A Small World
This moment was pretty priceless! She hasn't done so well with huge real life characters (like the cow at Chick-fil-a) so we weren't sure how she would handle it. She surprised us and ran up to Goofy and gave him a BIG hug! It was so cute!! She was in heaven!
Pluto was close by and she didn't hold back the hug for him either!
We walked farther down into the park and saw Goofy walking around again... Don't have to ask her twice for another round! ha ha! She saw Mickey and Minnie several times, but we didn't get pictures with them. We only took her for one whole day at Disneyland, and standing in line for them for over an hour just wasn't happening. She waved from the side though and was good with that :)
She went a step farther this time and went for the high five!
Mickey's house :)
Chip and Dale's Treehouse
I could have taken a million pictures of these 2 all day and I more than certainly did! She rode on his shoulders like it was a ride itself, just taking everything in!
Of course, she had to have a pic by the Ariel sign... We were SOOOO bummed that the Little Mermaid ride was down while we were there! She was so sad! She LOVES The Little Mermaid!
Monster's Inc.
We had to wait a few minutes to see Elsa and Anna, but she enjoyed the movies playing in the theater while we waited. She was mesmerized with everything!!
Oh man she was totally in heaven. I can't say that enough! Frozen was her first "movie" that she was obsessed with so this was a BIG deal! She walked right up to them and said, "Where's Olaf????!" Yep, that's our matter-of-fact girl :)
We had to hit Turtle Talk of course! Nemo is another favorite!
I couldn't take enough pictures of the look on her face during this... She was cracking up and loving it!
On to California Adventure! How cute are these two goobers! LOVE them!!
Triton's Under the Sea Carousel
Toy Story was pretty much the only line we waited over 15 minutes for the WHOLE day! It was so awesome! The line wasn't fun, but we goofed off with our glasses while we waited! Toy Story is her newest disney movie obsession, so this ride was a total hit!
She loves her some Tato Head!
We came out of the ride, and Woody was saying hi to a line of people. She was freaking out with excitement, so we headed over and stood in line. Shortly after, they came and told us that Woody was leaving and Buzz would be coming out. Oh boy was she sad about that. Almost ruined our day that she couldn't see Woody, but once Buzz came out, she perked up and was just as excited to see him!
Off we go again riding on daddy's shoulders!
Tarzan's Treehouse
Winnie The Pooh
We took a break in time to make the Mickey Soundsational Parade back at Disneyland!
Ohhh be still my heart..... I don't think I will ever forget this picture that I snagged during the parade! The look of such excitement and wonder literally melted my heart and got my teary! She was SO excited to see all of the characters and most of them even came up to her gawking at her curly hair, shaking her hand, or waving specifically to her! Pretty magical for all of us :)
Still goin' strong without a nap! We were sure ready for one though....
Towards the end of the day, we headed back to the entrance to get a pic by the infamous Mickey Flowers. That morning, it was PACKED with people trying to get pictures so we waited and came back. By that time, Adalynn was a bit cranky and tired, so this is the best we got... The joys of taking a 2 year old to Disneyland! :) :)
By the end of the day, she just rested on Jordan's shoulder, but couldn't put her smile away!
Everything in the park was decked out for Halloween! Pumpkins everywhere! It was so cute!
Well that was her big day in a nutshell! I regret a little bit not getting very many pictures of everything, but lemme tell ya, taking a 2 year old to Disneyland with no stroller is NOT for the faint of heart! She did amazing though and even had ZERO accidents the entire day we were there!! I was one proud momma for sure!! She is already asking when we can go back lol :)
California was so cool, she insisted on wearing her sunglasses in the tub :)
Checking out the Mall in Thousand Oaks! I found a puppy I was bound and determined to take home, but dad said no :(
OH heyyyyy CA!
We finished up our second day with yummy Mexican Food at our favorite restaurant, and she was out like a light!
Ok so we totally splurged and were able to have a date day at Disneyland with just us! Thankfully, Sherre helped us out and took Adalynn for the WHOLE day so we could just enjoy each other. It had been a good 4 months since we had even had a date! I didn't really know what to do with myself without my princess yelling mommy every 5 seconds! But all in all, it was the BEST day ever! There was a lot of hand holding, forehead kissing, flirting, butterflies, fun, and adult conversation. Did I mention it was the best ever? I took probably a total of 5 pictures the whole day because I was too busy obsessing over my hunk of a husband. It was magical <3
A BIG favorite, CARS!
Rockin' Screamin'
I had never seen the Haunted House decked out for Christmas! It was pretty cool :)
LOVE this family of mine!!
Just a water girl and her surfer dad <3
Ohhh look at that wave!!
Jordan was all over boogie boarding!
It was a little cooler in the afternoon and I got this cute snuggle buddy to wrap up in my towel!
We brought her a bunch of toys to play in the sand with.... and THIS was her favorite :) ha ha!
"Oh, Hi mom! Just getting back from boogie boarding!"
She cracks me up with that cute smile as the wave came crashing in! She kept looking back to see if I was watching what was happening :)
Jack and Jordan were tearing up the waves boogie boarding!
That wedge though.... ha ha ha ha! Girl got booty! Too cute to not snap a pic ;)
Lex was more than happy to help bury her!
She would have splashed in the water ALL day!
Her prancing on the beach and in the water completely melts me! That smile! Love her like crazy!!
Diggin' with McKayla :)
Our little beach shack for the day :) We had fun with Jack and Sherre & the girls!
Jack and Jordan catching the wave!
After all that fun at the beach, Adalynn came back and crashed... HARD!
We ended our beach day with a bang and ate at our favorite Mexican restaurant again! Delish! I was in heaven :) And it that wasn't enough, we even did smores in Jack's new backyard fire pit!
OH that smore face is to die for!
Our last day in CA was National Cheeseburger day... So we ate In N Out for the 2nd time and did a little shopping. Perfect! Adalynn just couldn't handle all the fun :)
So we screwed on our smiles, snuggled in, and made the best of it. We cute huh?!
We ended up getting home at about 330AM and were pretty much useless the next day!
Thank goodness for tablets and blankies!!
See ya later LA!
We had such a blast on our last Summer trip of 2016! I am still trying to soak in all the great memories we made. Family truly is the best and you can't beat amazing trips to remember forever! Here is to embracing cooler weather, crunchy leaves and soup! On to Fall!
