Where do I even start documenting the fabulous month of August!! Sooo many great memories and milestones for our family so buckle up, this post is going to be a record long one :)
Finishing up the end of July, our sweet Adalynn turned 3 months! Stats in previous blog post :)
And now on to August!
We started off the month with an on call weekend in Spokane for Jordan's job. We had to laugh a little how things have changed when we go to Spokane now that we have a little one in tow!
Soooo much more for daddy to haul into the hotel room :)
We ate at our favorite BBQ restaurant and Adalynn loved hanging out in the hotel! We even brought a movie to watch and had a little "date night" in our room when Adalynn went to bed complete with yummy food.
I have been working one day a week in the office when the doctor comes over from Oregon. It has been nice to be back with the girls at work and diving back into overseeing the office! The rest of the week I pop in and out of the office with Adalynn, or even work from home. It has been great!
Headed in for a busy Wednesday
After coming back from maternity leave, we needed some new office shirts! They turned out great! Love all the office girls :)
Just a random shot of our little princess... we just can't get enough of her cuteness
She looves her blankie and her binky! Takes after her momma :)
Also the beginning of August, Adalynn had to get her second round of shots! This momma wasn't a fan... I made Jordan come with me this time. After last time listening to her scream and whimper, I was dreading it. She actually did pretty good given that she had 3 shots.
She was less than thrilled when I tried to take her picture when we got home... This is her "I'm not happy" face" can ya tell??!!
But a few hours later that afternoon, she was back to her usually spunky self! Such a sweet girl <3
Adalynn has been dying to be able to sit up and see everything, so she has been spending a lot of time in her highchair while I make dinner AND we even tried her Bumbo chair and she LOVED it! She laughed and laughed on the bed after I put her in it for the first time.
Just a few random shots from day to day life :) Pictures tell the best story!
I just love naptime. I can hold my little girl and stare and examine all her amazing features. This afternoon I had an overload of mommy emotions as watched her sleep just thinking about all the ways she was going to change the world and grow up to be such a pretty strong young woman.
Pizza night at the Martitz house! Adalynn just eyed Jordan's pizza as he ate. Love these 2 :)
This just explains how awesome of a daddy Adalynn has! Everyday he always makes sure to say bye to her before he leaves. This particular day, he got down UNDER her play gym to say bye before he left. My heart completely melted....I could barely grab a picture in time to capture the moment. Dad of the year award!
It is rare that we get out to an actual sit down restaurant, but we attempted it and went to Applebees. Baby A is always such good entertainment! She loved to stick her tongue out and make faces across the table.
While we were eating our food at Applebees I look over to find this... because one hand just isn't enough when you are teething! She is so funny :)
One of Adalynn's favorite toys is her playgym, but today, she was just too tired to handle it! I couldn't help but to snap a pic. She was just too cute and sleeping so peacefully.
For our anniversary last month, I got Jordan 2 tickets to WWE wrestling live in Portland for him and someone else! Jordan's brother Nolan and his girlfiriend Hali went with us! Such a fun weekend with good food and shopping too!
The drive up to Portland, so pretty! Adalynn was full of smiles too :)
Eating at the Cheesecake Factory! YUM!!!
Lunch the next day, the boys wanted wings!
Hali with her mint chocolate brownie after wings
Nolan and Jordan with their wings!
Adalynn always with her tongue out :)
Shopping at the Portland Mall... They even had an ice rink INSIDE the mall!! Super cool!
Jordan, Nolan, and Hali went to see the new Ninja Turtles movie while Adalynn and I hung out and swam at the hotel!
She swam with daddy the next night in the hotel pool :)
loved to kick!
All zonked from the day's fun
Nolan and Jordan at the WWE event live! Me and Hali went shopping while they had their fun at wrestling.
Our last day in Portland, we hit up with Zoo!! What a cool place! Sooo many awesome animals to see and it even was a cool overcast day. SO much fun and ending our trip with a BANG!
After coming back from Portland, Adalynn had a Doctor's appt to double check everything was good before we made the trip to Twin Falls to go to Bear Lake :) Come to find out, she was 16lbs 9 oz! Can you say chunky monkey?! Healthy little stinker though and she was such a ham to see the doctor!
I have kept bust lately with several photography sessions! It has been so fun to snuggle some cute babies and get some precious shots! Here is a few recent ones :)
Just a few more random pics.... I can't resist taking tons and tons on a daily basis!
Such a ham while grocery shopping! She loooooves her blankie! and cheesin for mom ;)
Too cute! Giggling while sleeping on my shoulder. Heart melted!
Love watching her sleep <3 check out those long lashes!! Such a pretty girl
She still can't get enough of bathtime! All squeaky clean and sportin those rolls :) Love this little girl so much!
The middle of August, Adalynn started talking and jabbering so much! She would go on and on forever if you let her! Here are a few clips :)
About a week before we left for Twin Falls for Bear Lake, we got the news that we had been praying for and waiting for for a LONG LONG time! A position had opened up in the Boise area and Jordan was offered the transfer to move and be closer to family!!!!! We were so excited, we could barely stand it! It almost felt too good to be true. 7 hours away is just too far! After a few details were worked out with both Jordan's current boss and his new boss, we set up a meeting to meet up with Jordan's new boss in Boise on the way back home from Bear Lake. So away we headed for Twin Falls to head to Bear Lake the next day!
We got Adalynn a "big girl" carseat since she was getting so big, but it turned out to be really hard! She loved being able to sit up and see out the window, but when it came time to nap, it was really hard.... So she is back in the carrier until we find a better "big girl" seat :) She looks pretty cute in it though on the drive down lol
2 hours left of the drive and we stopped in Boise and ate at Goodwood :) Adalynn was so happy to be out of the car and loved sitting with daddy watching football while we waited for our food.
We had been watching the weather for a few days before we left and on the drive down and it was thunder storming in Bear Lake! After weighing our options, we decided to not go and get rained on the whole time. Good thing we didn't end up going because come to find out, it poured the whole weekend!
Hanging out in Twin that night. They were so happy to see us! Even Scooter :)
Grandma missed Adalynn! She later initiated her by blowing out on her lap all over her pants! Grandma didn't mind :)
Instead, we decided to go to Boise with my family, get a hotel, swim, and house hunt! We were so excited to be able to buy a house in the Boise area and had a great Realtor to show us around.
Some pics on the ride up to Boise :)
She was rocking her pink cheetah Sperry's for the first time! So cute!
Ugh I just can't get enough of her... Kisses for days!!
My mom and dad and brothers were the best and watched Adalynn all day in Boise while we looked at houses! Such a relief! They had so much fun taking her shopping and getting in their "grandma & grandpa" time :) So much easier to focus on finding a house!
After the day of house hunting on Friday, we didn't find anything too exciting. A few houses that were okay, but nothing we were in love with just yet. We ate some yummy Olive Garden with everyone and headed back to the hotel to go swimming! Adalynn sure loves the water and kicks like crazy! It was quite funny!
The next day, we decided to look at a few more houses while we had my family to watch Adalynn. We narrowed it down to 2 houses and met up with them to look at them with us. We both really liked one of them and couldn't agree, but neither one of us felt right about that it was "the one". We held off putting in any offers and headed back to Twin Falls with everyone and tried to salvage some boating at the lake :) It was a bit chilly due to the recent rain storm, but we bundled up and enjoyed the sun!
Jordan tried surfing for the first time!
He missed the memo though that when you fall.... you let go!!! We were laughing soooo hard we were crying! He was hanging on for dear life and drinking gallons of water as he held on :)
Look at those handsome guys!
Seriously how cute is she?! Ugh can't get enough of her!
She was wore out after the day on the water!
After boating on the lake, we were due to head back to Boise the next day and to continue the house hunt before we had to head back to Lewiston! We met up with our Realtor and had Adalynn in tow.. We knew we would be in for a ride! She is such a good baby, but looking at houses all day long doesn't mix too well with nap time and no seat to sleep in :( The beginning was rough, but she was so good the rest of the day!
We originally wanted to live in Meridian preferably, but were open to looking in Boise as well. Our Realtor talked us into looking at houses in Kuna (about 4 miles outside of Meridian) when we weren't finding anything we loved. After spending the afternoon out there looking at several homes, we came up with 3 amazing houses that we loved! That was comforting in case an offer didn't go through or something didn't work out and the other houses would not disappoint! We put in an offer on our favorite house... and they ACCEPTED it!!! We bought a house!
Our future home!
It is a 4 bedroom 2 bath single level home built in 2012 with a huge bonus room upstairs above the garage and is 2,000 square feet total. It has dark hardwood floors, a huge open floor plan, a nice backyard and so much more! We are thrilled to have tons of room including a space for Jordan to have an office and me to have a photography studio! And of course we still have our room, an upstairs guest room, and Adalynn's room on top of that :) We are so excited, we can barely stand it! The plan is to move in early October and Jordan will join us November 1st to start working in Boise!
The 7 hour drive back home was a bit easier knowing that we wouldn't have to do it for much longer!
Aaaannd a few more tidbits from the last 2 weeks after getting home from Twin Falls :)
How am I supposed to put this sweet girl to bed when all she does is smile at me while I try to feed her her bed time bottle?! Don't get me wrong, some crazy days, I can't wait till her bed time, but moments like this, I wish I could freeze time to make it last forever!
Let's just skip rolling everywhere and go right to crawling... SAID NO MOM EVER!! she sure doesn't want to be a baby!
Faces in the mirror :)
That smiles keeps her out of all kinds of trouble ;)
Daddy was on call in Spokane so baby A went grocery shopping with me... Can you spot her in there? Yeah winning!!
At the end of August, miss Adalynn turned 4 months old! Sheesh how time flies! She is full of sass and personality! She loves to scoot on her back, be in the water, and sit up!
Her 4 month milestone brought rice cereal for the first time! She loved it and grunted in between bites as if I wasn't shoveling it fast enough :) Such a hungry girl!
The day after turning 4 months old, this little stinker rolled over!! Now she is rolling all over the living room and loving being mobile. Stop growing so fast baby girl!!
Silly girl :)
Because life is too short to play with your play gym on the ground!
Whew, that was a ton! Adalynn's 4 month stats to come!
Love,
Jordan & Elise
