Yes this trip gets a post all of its own! There is so much to tell and SO many pictures that it just needs a post of its own!
Ok so first off, this trip was not planned. I got a days notice! As in a previous post, we attempted to go to our yearly trip to Bear Lake the middle of August, and got rained out, and actually spent that time finding our beautiful new house! While that was great, we were sad that we weren't able to go to one of our favorite places! Not only that, but this would have been the first year to take our little girl and go as a family of 3! A few weekends after we got rained out and didn't go, my family had already planned to go for a second time with our extended family. We love Bear Lake, but making the 10 hour drive again was just going to be too hard after we had just been down there a few weeks prior.
Anyways, the Wednesday before my family was leaving, I talked to my mom on the phone and she began to tell me how they were getting ready to go that weekend and how they would miss us being there. I was super sad. Later that day I was telling Jordan how they were going to be at the Lake that weekend and it sucks that we wouldn't be there. After that conversation, Jordan's new boss in Boise called a few times and he went outside to take the call both times. While I thought that was weird, I didn't think much of it and kept playing with Adalynn. Soon after, he came back in the house and told me that he had planned to surprise me to be able to go to Bear Lake with my family that weekend because he knew how much it meant to me. He went on to tell me that it was supposed to be a surprise, but unexpectedly, he had to meet with his new boss again as well so he had to tell me about it sooner than he had planned! I was so in shock I started crying. Ever since I was little and we had family vacations there, Bear Lake was my absolute favorite! So many memories and so many unique things to see and do and eat.
I was so flustered and so in shock, but I had to hurry and pull everything together and pack because we were leaving the next day! Sheesh! That was a long day/night to say the least, but we got it all together, packed to the roof of the Escape and headed for Twin Falls to stay the night.
Bear Lake is about 3.5 hours from Twin Falls, so we always make the 7 hour drive to Twin, stay the night, and leave the next morning in the car for the remainder to the lake.
Thankfully on long car rides, Adalynn is such a good little traveler! It was much needed because that was a loooong grueling drive unlike most Twin trips. A lot of construction, accidents, and a tired Jordan driver. Before we left that day, he had already spend 4 hours in the car for work on top of the 7 hours he drove us to Twin Falls. Yes yes he is a good man!
Got her blankie and her binki and she is good to go just watching out the window :) So content!
We finally made it to Twin Falls at about midnight, grabbed some food and filled up gas to leave next day, and headed to sleep at my parent's house for the night.
Ok hang on to yourselves... While this trip has tons of cute pictures and awesome memories, there are quit a few "stories" to be told :)
We woke up the next morning, packed up and jumped in the car to leave. After turning the car on, we realized that something was wrong....We had filled up late the night before and went down the street to my parents house, yet the gas tank said we only had 3/4 of a tank when it still should have been over full. During the night I had heard some noise while up with Adalynn, but didn't think anything of it.... I should have checked! Not a good way to start off the day finding out that our gas had been siphoned! Ugghhh.... Anyways so we headed out and the truck with the boat was behind us. We soon got a call that there was a loud rumbling noise and they were stopped on the side of the road before the freeway. GREAT! We headed back to meet them and come to find out, whoever siphoned our gas, tried to steal the custom rims off my dad's truck too... PERFECT! They take a special tool though so they weren't able to get them off, but every one of them was loose! The loud noise was all the lug nuts rumbling around. After going to a repair shop to get them professionally tightened again, we FINALLY headed out to the Lake! Sheesh what a morning!
My little brother Justin rode with us and boy was that fun :) Between him and Jordan, they are like 2 peas in a pod! SO funny!
We got there late that afternoon and following tradition, my angel mom stops at the Paris cemetery every time we are there to put flowers on my Great grandma's grave. We kept heading to the cabin, but soon headed to the cemetery too because my dad had locked his keys in the truck. GREAT huh?! We were on a roll :) So happy we went up there though because we got such a special picture while we were there!
All 4 generations (Adalynn, Me, My Mom, and My Grandma) All next to the passed away 5th generation, My Great Grandma Beck's grave! Oh it was all I could do to keep the tears away! Such special amazing women! Adalynn and I have BIG shoes to fill!
We headed to dinner and had the whole gang together! Total there was us, my immediate family, My Grandma and Grandpa Rice, The Anderson Family, and Ray and Jean Case. So fun! We ate at a yummy Mexican Restaurant :)
We had fun having everyone stay together at a different cabin than usual. The guys played pool, the women chatted, and of course everyone wanted some "Adalynn" time :) I just love family!

Saturday we were so excited to head to the Lake. To be honest, it was a partly sunny day, but pretty fresh and chilly! It was supposed to rain off and on the entire day! While that was a bummer, nothing could dull our excitement to be at lake with all our family! Even in between the rain spells, we had a ball :)
It was pretty cold when we first got there and midway into the afternoon, so we relaxed on the beach with towels, took some pictures, and enjoyed the view of the lake and the boat in the distance!
They couldn't wait to start building a sand masterpiece!!
My mom and Justin were dying to ski so several of them braved the icy water and headed out. We could hear my mom scream from the cold water clear back at the beach ha ha!
Love the beach! As the day went on we got rained on a few times, but had a lot of fun!!
The whole gang!
Ok here is the fun part.... TUBING!!!
Always a good story when we all get together and tube with the cousins!
Sarah and Joshua were up first and they got some air to say the least!! :)
Sarah traded out for Jordan and away we went again!
Eric decided to brave it with Jordan next! Let's be honest... While he is super fun to ride with, he keeps things interesting!! :) Funny story approaching.....
So so after they hit this gnarly wave.....Eric fell off and so did something else..... We came around to pick him up and my mom and I were laughing so hard we just about peed our pants!! Thankfully Eric had put on an extra pair or shorts under his suit due to the cold that morning because the impact of the fly off made him lose his swimsuit!! We were laughing soooo hard! Eric was so funny and acted all nonchalant about it like no big deal... As soon as we got him up into the boat, my cousin Joshua yelled, "THERE THEY ARE!!!!" We whip back around to find Eric's swimsuit shorts all puffed up in a ball of air and just chillin in the middle of the lake! Well played Eric, well played! We laughed all the way into shore and the rest of the day!
And here is the rest of the tubing :)
Whew what a day! We headed home, ate some good food, and were all tuckered out and ready for bed! We left back to Twin Falls on Sunday and yet another problem. The clutch in my dad's truck wasn't working right which wasn't a good thing beings he was pulling the boat! They made it back to Twin Falls carefully, thankfully, and we met up with Jordan's brother and sister for dinner before we had to head home the next day!
Monday morning, we headed for Boise bright and early to start our drive home, meet with Jordan's new boss, AND go see our new house :) It was super early and Adalynn wasn't a fan. Lots of yawns and scowls!
Jordan met up with his boss and finalized some great news! He was originally planning on taking the Boise territory when we bought our house. The is about a 20 minute commute every day from where we would live. We had been waiting a LONG time for the Meridian territory to open up because we like that nicer area, but it never had, hence why he took the Boise territory when it became available. Well in the mean time of buying our house and planning to move, the Meridian territory opened up and he was offered that! We were so happy! That territory is only about 4 miles from our house AND it is a much smaller territory as far as how far he would have to travel! He had to meet with his new boss to go over the new information and sure up the details, which worked out since we were already going down that way for Bear Lake. We are so blessed!
He finished meeting with him and we got to go out and look at our new house! We took some measurements for appliances and furniture, and then headed out to eat at Del Taco before getting back on the road. Adalynn loved sitting up in the high chair while we ate! Anything to have a break from the car :)
After a long drive home, we are looking forward to moving in just a couple weeks! Lots to do and so much excitement :) We can't wait to start the next chapter of our lives in the Meridian/Boise area and be closer to family!
