January has creeped in after an eventful December to finish {2013}!
Hopefully I can remember everything for this post. Pregnancy brain is getting the best of me lately!! A cousin asked for our address to send a Christmas card and I walked into work the next week to find it sitting on my desk! Ugggghhh either I work too much or I just like getting personal mail at my work address. I really do have a home address! ha ha oh well
Before we headed home to Twin for Christmas, we were running around crazy between Christmas parties, delivering goodies to friends & neighbors, and getting all the wrapping done!
Looking spiffy on our way to church!
Although we did get smaller gifts for each other this year, it became apparent that we are officially "adults" beings that the majority of our gifts to each other included large purchase items that came a month before Christmas! We love our new entertainment center, new 50" TV, and microwave. Yeah so the microwave wasn't such an exciting purchase, but everything else was! We were joking on Thanksgiving how our microwave had lasted a long time how surprised we were that it hadn't gone out yet. Sure enough! The very next week it was caput! Glad it wasn't on Thanksgiving though!
In between all the hustle and bustle of the season, Jordan threw me for a loop the Saturday before we left! We woke up and he said he was going to go "Christmas shopping" for a while. He then came home with a bouquet of roses, Panda Express for lunch, a movie for a lazy day inside, and a footrub!! I was in shock! It was so sweet and so nice to take a relaxing day in between how busy we had been. Felt like a million bucks and spent the day cuddling and relaxing! Jordan deemed it as "Elise" day. Yeah he is kind of amazing!
The day before we left for Twin Falls, we had our anatomy ultrasound to get another peek at our baby girl! It was a pretty hilarious session. She was bouncing all over my stomach, doing flips, pushing off all corners of my stomach, and being quite the acrobat! I had kept telling Jordan about her being the little ninja in my stomach with her hard kicks and movement and he always just laughed until he saw it actually on the ultrasound screen and was shocked! The ultrasound tech was trying to take measurements in between all her movement and it was difficult. Her comment was "Well she is responsive that's for sure!' Oh boy! After all her movement, she curled up in a ball and put her hands by her face, and wouldn't move an inch no matter how hard we tried! I walked around, changed positions multiple times, and she still wouldn't roll over! Because of that, the tech was unable to get adequate measurements of her heart chambers so we will have to go back in a month or so. Little stinker already and she isn't even here yet! I have a feeling that she is going to take after her overly active father ;)
We made the trip to Twin on Christmas Eve and had a great trip!! We went to the Christmas program with Jordan's mom and family, and then spent the rest of Christmas Eve over at my Grandma's house complete with tons of food and games :) We had a lot of fun!!
Christmas brought time with both families, wonderful gifts, great food, and good company! We started out doing presents with Jordan's family, came back to do presents with my family, ate with Grandpa and Grandma Dutry, and then back to Jordan's family to do dinner and presents with Aunt Lind and Aaron. Whew! It was quite the busy day, but we had a great Christmas!! (Jordan's family is camera shy when it comes to pictures on Christmas morning, so they are MIA in these pics!)
Justin got skiis, Scooter was just happy chilling on his bed, Eric got a new pot and pan set, Mom got a clock for above the fireplace, and dad got a classic car shirt :) Just a few of the many presents!
We were spoiled with several baby gifts from my mom and dad! We have quite the collection now :) Jordan got me several things, including a new "blankie" that was chevron! LOVE it! Jordan really wanted a camcorder to capture all those baby "firsts" soon, so that is what he got from me :) Everyone in the family knows that I love Despicable Me, so I got several things from the movie including Jordan's mom got me Despicable Me 2 on Blu Ray!
Snapshots from brunch with the Dutry grandparents and opening presents :)
Scooter loved cuddling up next to Jordan on the floor while everyone else was chatting!
First belly pic :) Merry Christmas!!
Jordan thought he was all done with presents for the day, but later Christmas evening while watching the Laker's game at his family's house, he was able to feel our little girl kick on the outside of my belly for the first time! He was so excited to finally feel her strong kicks and kept asking with his hand where she was moving all night long. So fun!
We spent the rest of the week doing fun things with family, registering for baby stuff, shopping, and seeing friends :)
We went with my family to Jump time on of the nights, which is an indoor trampoline arena! I was the picture taker and respectfully watched from the sidelines, but the boys were quite the crack up! Between doing flips, playing trampoline basketball, and cutthroat dodge ball, they were wore out! Afterwards, everyone went out to Gerties for pizza even Grandpa and Grandma Rice!
I tried to get a few snapshots of the action, but those darn boys are just too fast!
Eric has been looking to buy a house in Twin Falls since April and has had no luck! He had bid on several short sales and they have always fell through or he wasn't the highest bidder. It has been quite the struggle for him and he has wanted to be in his own place for a long time! While we were down visiting, we took some time to go look at some properties with the family and see what we could find. We looked at a few that were OK but nothing too amazing and very small! We ended up finding a cute little house out in Kimberly (about 7 min from Twin Falls) and went to go check it out. It was in a quiet neighborhood, great location, and was quite the cute little house! It has several bedrooms, a basement, a fireplace, and has about 2100 square feet!! It will need some paint and a few minor repairs, but overall, it was a great property! It also has a stone fireplace, a fenced yard, and the furnace is nearly new! There is a Maverick around the corner and the grocery store is across the way. Perfect! After coming home, Eric decided to put in an offer on the house. They went back and forth a few times, and HE IS NOW A HOMEOWNER!!! Yay!! We are so happy for him!! They are in the process of doing the home inspection and will close the end of February so he can then move in and start making it his :) Here are a few snapshots
We made the long drive back to Lewiston which gets worse and worse the farther along I get. Multiple bathroom stops and being scrunched up in the car for 7 hours means for a not so happy Elise! Since being home, I have designed the baby room and can't wait to dive in!
Shortly after we left, my mom emailed me a pic of the Christmas dress she got for baby Martitz. Santa dress with striped leggings....How cute is this??!!!
We spent New Years with some friends in Lewiston just relaxing, playing games, and eating some food. Hellllooooo 2014!!!!
The next few weeks will be quite the blur I'm sure! We are flying to California for our last "official" vacation in 3 weeks and are sooo excited! In the meantime, Jordan will be on call in Spokane again......AND we have a 3D ultrasound at a clinic in Spokane to get some cute 3D/4D shots of our little missy :) I am sooooo exited! Can't wait! 23 weeks today and next week means I will be 6 months along! Crazy how fast time has flown by! That much closer to meeting our little girl. No progress on names however, but we will tackle that soon enough I'm sure :)
Well now that the hubs is back from freezing his butt off duck hunting, It's time to enjoy the rest of our Saturday together! Happy January!
