Our first Christmas Card!!

We have made it to December and it has been a ride!

We started out the month in the TriCities in Washington while Jordan trained a new guy. It was super fun to shop in a big city and enjoy all the yummy chain food. Our hotel was super nice too! While Jordan trained during the day for a couple of days, I got to shop till I drop for Christmas presents and stuff for our house! We had a blast :)

This weekend we will be in Spokane for Jordan being on call for the weekend. What can I say, we are all shopped and big citied out! I won't be surprised if we hibernate in the hotel room doing absolutely nothing but relaxing just because we can :)

The following weekend, we will be heading to Twin Falls for Christmas with family! We are so excited and can't wait to see everyone!

In the meantime, I am running around frantic trying to finish wrapping, neighbor gifts, laundry, and packing. Tis the season right?!

This Christmas is our first year as a married couple. I was super excited to be able to send out a Christmas Card and carry on the tradition of a Christmas poem with it :) I was very happy with the way our poem turned out!.... not so much the card though, but hey there isn't much you can do with a Christmas card when the backgrounds are of Hawaiian flowers and beach right? Better luck next year that will have a "matching" formal session for pictures for our card :)

Hope all is well with your busy Christmas Season! Below is our Christmas card and poem if you didn't get one and would like to read :) Enjoy!

As 2012 draws to a close, we take time to reflect on the year;
We have been extremely blessed in our endeavors, and wish to spread some good cheer.
7.7.12 was the beginning of forever, the best day of our life;
We celebrated with family & friends, finally being husband and wife!
Our first hurdle after getting married required quite a move,
Jordan’s job moved us to Lewiston,ID, and we slowly found our groove.
We were home long enough to unload our stuff, about a week to be exact;
Then traveled to beautiful Hawaii for our honeymoon, and had a fun week that was jam packed!
The trip included snorkeling in the ocean, the bluest water you have ever seen;
We also swam with green sea turtles, it really felt like a dream!
We hiked through the rainforest, and zip lined through the trees;
It really was a different world, and always above 80 degrees!
Our tour guides were amazing, they really were a hoot;
Needless to say, there were an infinite number of pictures to shoot!
Sunsets and sunrises were to die for; Our dinner cruise was a blast;
It was all so surreal, and our week we spent there flew by too fast!
Reality soon kicked in, and Jordan returned to work;
Selling chemicals for Ecolab, which definitely has its perks!
His territory is doing great, he has had much success;
Meeting and getting new customers, he is very busy nevertheless!
Elise took time to settle in, and get the house all put together;
We were thrilled to hear that Lewiston brought quite warmer weather!
Elise soon began the job hunt and was grateful to find the perfect position;
She fit right in as the dental office administrator, and it has been a great transition.
Her photography has taken off as well, she really loves doing sessions on the side;
Shooting for families, seniors, and children have been quite the ride!
We participate in a volleyball league and love to play games with friends;
We love weekend getaways, the fun never ends!
From our family to yours, we wish you a Merry Christmas season;
For the birth of Christ the Lord gives the holiday much reason.
May you find room for the Savior in your life, as there once was none in Bethlehem;
Spread the Christmas spirit, cherish family and friends!
Love,
Jordan & Elise Martitz

Yummy Holiday & Good Friends :)

Thanksgiving was such a success this year! The past few years I have spent Thanksgiving in Montana with Jordan, BUT this year I was so GRATEFUL to not have to do all the cooking by myself :)

We got to spend the holiday with great friends and had such a fun time! In previous Thanksgivings, I had always made a glazed ham instead of turkey because they are SO big for only a few people. This year however, we attempted to make BOTH for our big crowd.... and we SUCCEEDED!!! Jenika and I had never made a turkey before and we hit it out of the park :) It was super yummy and moist! The ham was also fabulous. We had so much food.... and that is an understatement! Oh and P.S. we were all feeling super comfy clothes that day, so if you are reading this post and wondering why we are all in sweats, no judging! lol

We spent the rest of the day playing games and then braved the crowds at Black Friday with the Jeppsons :) We made it out alive and got everything we wanted!

Showing off our stuff job ;)

The boys were on stand by while the girls slaved away in the kitchen

Jenika was feeling Extra silly AFTER the turkey prepping went well ;)

Jenika and Kim scoping out the snack situation ;)

 Our group playin some serious games!

Jenika and Jordan Jeppson

Us :)

Alright alright now that the most recent holiday has been blogged, time for an update on everything else that has been keeping us busy!

Jordan recently was gone for 2 days to train a new guy in the Tricities! I did miss him lots, but while he was there, he sent me a picture of the beautiful Columbia River Temple! Looks a lot like the Spokane Temple that we are close too, but nevertheless, I thought it was beautiful!

Some friends of ours, Kim and Greg Hemmert, have been expecting their first little baby girl and She finally arrived! Baby Remi is as cute as a button and I love to snuggle her! We went and saw her at the hospital and I couldn't get enough of her!

I also got to do Baby Remi's newborn pics! Despite her being super NOT cooperative for pics, we managed to get a few breathtaking shots of this sweet girl :) Here is one from the session. More pics to come!

I got to love on her some more while the Hemmerts were at our house for Thanksgiving. Thank goodness for friends with babies! It has been quite a while since I have held such a NEW newborn. Such a precious little girl! Can't wait to have our own someday :)

Drumroll!!!........We finally upgraded our furniture! We have been looking for a while for new couches in Lewiston and Spokane. We now have a large sectional and a recliner! We are loving having more room to sit on and I love the look of them! We also got some bookshelves for our DVDs and to decorate the living room with. I am SO happy that our house is starting to feel "fuller" and more "homey!" I also bought some curtains for the living, but they have yet to make their appearance. Soon hopefully!!

Looks comfy right? We love them:)

As far as everything else, our volleyball is wrapping up in a few weeks and we are diving head first into Christmas shopping. Whew!

The next month is going to be super super super hectic, what else is new right?! We may be going to the TriCities for a weekend, Jordan will be on call in Spokane, and we will be traveling to Twin Falls for Christmas! Can't wait to see family and enjoy the holidays :)

Hopefully our Christmas card will be out and about soon! I am having a blast designing cards for photography clients!

Enjoy and savor the Christmas Season.....Happy Holidays from the Martitz Family!!!

The last {18} days in pictures & Random tidbits

 As usual it has been a few weeks since I have caught up the blog! We have had quite the busy little while and several pics to prove it :)

It has been getting super cold in Lewiston! I broke out the vests, coats, and hats a little early, but anyone who knows me knows I am NOT a fan of the cold!! No one says that you can't be cute all bundled up though ;)

My job at the dental office is going great! It is very stressful at times, but I am enjoying it. We are in the middle of doing a conversion to a different dental software and going more electronic! I am so excited and will be sooo relieved when everything is situated :) The dentist I work for is based out of Joseph,Oregon and also has a practice there. He flies into Lewiston a few days a week to see patients and the other few days of the week I play catch up on isurance billing and claims. A couple of weeks ago, we got to go to Oregon for training of the new software! Jordan came too and it was a fun little getaway :) On the way we saw TONS of deer literally arms reach away! It was great to see and I had to snap a pic. Also we woke up to such a pretty view outside the hotel!

 Deer we saw on the way :)

 The beautiful view outside our hotel room!!

I was so excited to go to the pumpkin patch a few days before halloween, and it ended up completely pouring that day! So instead, I stayed warm inside, and baked cupcakes to take for all the girls at training in Oregon. I took my time making them super pretty and the packaging perfect. I was one proud baker! Spice cupcakes with pumpkin cream cheese frosting was the final product and they were OOBER good!!

We joined a rec volleyball league a little bit ago and play a couple nights a week on a team with some friends :) At first I was super apprehensive and didn't know if it would even be any fun, but we are having a blast! We were undefeated until our last game where we lost by 2, but we have a rockin team! The only downside to playing is well.....bruises. I was never an avid volleyball player, so my wrists and arms aren't exactly "broken" in! So that being said... check out my battle wound.....
This was even AFTER a week of healing! It got all green and nasty.... This is looking good compared to where it started out at! Its a blood sport, but we love it :)

We love Costco...That is about all to say about this next pic :) portion and freeze for two people! Gotta love their good deals!

So I'm sure you all are sick of hearing about politics and all that garbage, but for me, this year's election was very personal. Due to lovely heath care reform from obamacare, our bebefits went from super great to super super scary for next year! When we sat down to look at them for Jordan's open enrollment which was a few nights before the election, I just sat and stared thinking, "Am I missing something here????" I hoped and prayed that Mitt Romney would win so that this country could get back on track. With the road Obama is leading this country down, it is scary to afford daily life let alone a family. Among the many benefits of Jordan's great job with Ecolab, his Health Benefits were top on the list. Like I mentioned, those are now in the toilet due to Obamacare. This adds stress to being able to eventually fulfill a longtime dream of both of ours to start a family down the road. I was deeply saddened to see that our country is dumb enough to put Obama back in and unleash more evil and damaging things to this great country that so many have worked so hard to build. After the election Tuesday night, I just sat on the couch and cried. Now more than ever, prayer, food storage, and following church leadership counsel is essential. I saw this on Pinterest and though it was rather appropriate. Apparently common sense isn't so common in this world anymore!

My ring has been at the jewelers for the last week for its annual inspection and cleaning for the warranty. I have felt NAKED!! It has been such a weird feeling! I wore a little ring while it was away and I didn't realize how heavy my wedding set was till I didn't have it! It is a beast! I absolutely LOVE it though and everytime I look at it, I remember the handsome man that I get to spend forever with <3 Speaking of handsome man.... My hubby surprised me at work with panda for lunch on Friday, AND brought me my beautiful ring from the jewelers! He was all dressed up and looking sharp too! He is a keeper for sure :)

This weekend, Jordan is on call in Spokane again! Man 5 weeks have snuck up on us again... It feels like we were just here! We are for sure making it worth our while though while we are here. We have been looking to upgrade our couches and get an entertainment center so we can finally put our living room together. It is so bare! Our little town of Lewiston doesn't have much to offer in the furniture department, so we are searching all the furniture warehouses here in Spokane in hopes to have some pretty new living room furniture delivered! Day 1 was tiring, but pretty successful so far :) We are super pooped! We enjoyed a super yummy dinner at a new place called Boston's and then hit the bed to relax! Can't beat a weekend getaway with your best friend!

Love to all and and to all a goodnight ;)

What People {DON'T} Tell You About Marriage

Saw a similar post on a friend's blog and it started joggin my memory of our marriage and the transitions we have had to make!

The truth is that marriage is great! While you always have a best friend to come home to at night, and a sidekick who always has your back in everything, there are also some other tidbits that seem to be classified when you recieve wedding advice! Here are some truths about our marriage EXPOSED!!

1.Sharing a bathroom is harder than you think-Getting ready in the morning at the same time is sometimes a chore between Jordan trying to wet his hair- head only in the shower, and me spraying hairspray everywhere hoping not to get it in his eyes! Jordan always jokes that it is a cloud of hairspray in the bathroom which is true most of the time. What can I say? I have alot of hair especially CURLY UNMANAGEABLE hair! :) Bathrooms are an important subject when you get married. Everything from where to put what, Towels on the shower door or hanger, and the girl taking up the majority of the bathroom. Get used to it!

2.It takes a while to get used to each others quirks-Before we were married we knew ALOT of quirks about each other, but there are always a few that you don't find out until marriage or have to deal with until marriage. I have always been a "sleep talker" which is a side of me that Jordan has never seen before :) Needless to say, he was in for a treat! I frequently have full on conversations with him about nothing or random yells and remember NOTHING in the morning. He usually thinks it is hilarious, until it keeps him up some nights. But if I gotta put up with his snoring, then he can put up with a few off the wall conversations :)

3. Groceries for 2 people are expensive-Might as well cook for 4 instead of 2! I was used to grocery shopping for just me, myself, and I when It was just me. It took me 2 weeks to go through a gallon milk and a month to go through a loaf of bread. Now every time I grocery shop, it looks like I storing up for the winter, when I really am just feeding a big bear named Jordan and a little for myself. lol We now go through 2 gallons of milk a week! Good thing we have a Costco close by :) I'm a regular there for more reasons that just milk! It is hard to buy meals for just 2 people. Seems we are always cooking for at least 4 at times, despite trying to portion and freeze stuff!! At first, Jordan would freak out when he saw the grocery bill, and then after going through it would realize that it was all legit and justified, just groceries in general are expensive especially buying for double what you are used to.

4. Don't count on watching "your" shows-Before we were married, I could count on watching everything I wanted to watch. NOW things are a tad bit different :) We have to smush all of our shows together and hope we get to see a few minutes of each! Seems like football and wrestling take priority, but I squeeze in a few of mine when I can EVEN if it requires the night to consist of Survivor/America's Got Talent/The Voice/Operation Repo/Chopped. That's alot huh? My point exactly... WELCOME TO MARRIED LIFE!

5. You suddenly feel guilty about buying clothes or ANYTHING for that matter- I have to admit that this is probably the first time this happened to me with a few exceptions... and it is super weird!  Before we got married, I would see a good deal or a cute top and be like "I worked hard this week I deserve it" and buy it. Obviously I still need clothes after being married, but I can't put my finger on it about what exactly makes it so different. Sharing money maybe?  Jordan is super cute too when it comes to sharing money now and is super considerate. He will be working in another city and call and be like "I'm hungry so I'm going to stop and get some dollar burgers mm k?" lol this conversation usually involves a little chuckle of his cuteness follwed by an "Ok babe sounds good" :)

6. Laundry is off limits- I am super super picky about laundry. Everything from the way it feels to the way it smells, to what is washed with what, and what to use for stains. As a result of this, Jordan knows that him helping with putting laundry in is off limits. Sounds kind of silly beings that he deals with chemicals for laundry for a living, BUT home laundry is TOTALLY different in my book :) Laugh I know, but I am weird like that. Most wives I'm sure would love it if their husband helped out with laundry, but I am the odd one out with that. Jordan doesn't complain either other than what is to be folded/hung, so I must be doing something right :)

Those are just a few of mine that seem to stand out the most, but I asked Jordan about what he thought were some things people didn't tell you about getting married, and surprisingly, he gave me a good size list! Here is his list spoken by him :)

7. Men suddenly learn that style is more important now than comfort- Before getting married I would just throw on some basketball shorts and a tshirt to go hangout or play ball or run to the store.This soon changed after the first few comments by my wife like "Are you really going to wear that?" or "That doesn't match whatsoever" lol She then clued me in that apparently black and blue don't match, cut off shirts are so high school, and that dressing up to go out was important. Who knew?! I'm just a guy that wants to be comfortable who married a woman that has some serious fashion do's and don'ts this I now know.

8. You can't just do whatever whenever anymore- As a bachelor, I enjoyed being able to do whatever whenever I wanted without having to do too much planning or let anyone know. This also quickly changed after taking into account that now I had dinner waiting for me when I got home, another person to take care of and include, and a schedule to ahere to! I also now have to plan ahead at least 45 min if I wanna go anywhere because Elise takes at least that long to get ready if not longer!

9."Guy" time is pretty much obsolete-  I'm used to hanging around with several friends always and now being married you don't make "guy" friends, you make "couple" friends so your wife can have a friend too. Who woulda thunk it?! Not that its neccesarily a bad thing, just different :) I still have a few occasion golf or frisbee dates with guy buddies, but not nearly what I was used to.

10. Getting used to being "sensitive"- For those of you who know me, I am not the touchy-feely mushy gushy type of guy!  My wife on the other hand, is a girl, and is the total opposite. She is always putting little cute notes in my wallet and writing things on the board in the bathroom. It is an adjustment to train your way of thinking to be overly sweet and full of compliments and being understanding when she starts crying with no warning for no reason. I admit it freaked me out a little at first, but she is the best and I wouldn't have her any other way than the sweet sensitive person she is!

11. Money goes out ALOT faster with 2 people instead of 1- I am not a spender. Like AT ALL. When I lived solo, I spent money on bills and instant banquet meals. That was it! I never bought anything for myself and was content with things. Now spending money on groceries and bills and prescriptions and gas etc. etc. etc. Money flows alot more than I am used to! We are conservative with our money and it is just an adjustment to having to support 2 people now instead of 1, but DANG! At first I freaked out when I saw the account fluctuate on a daily basis, now it is just reality.

All in all, we love being married and even after 3.5 months, we are still figuring things out! Good thing we have the rest of forever to get it right ;) The biggest things of being married are to laugh, enjoy life together, cherish moments, and be grateful for each new day to learn, grown, and everyday strive to become more Christlike.

I just realized that I haven't blogged for OVER 2 weeks!!! Wowzers!! Time for an update :)

The first weekend in October, Jordan was on call in Spokane for the weekend. We planned a fun weekend with our best friends and shared a hotel room :) Needless to say, we caused just a little bit of trouble with both us couples! We shopped till we dropped at all the malls, well, at least me and Jennika did! The boys just trailed along or snuck off to play arcade games in the bottom floor of the mall :) We ate super yummy food and on a whim, BOUGHT A DYSON!!! I was soooo happy! Costco had a killer deal and the coupon was going off the next day, so Jordan reluctantly agreed :) We also went and saw Taken 2 in the theatre! Such a suspensful movie! I'm pretty sure my hand was over my eyes the majority of the time lol ooops!! The BEST part of the whole weekend was by far what went on in our hotel room. For those of you that haven't read my last couple of posts, our friends Jordan and Jennika that went with us are avid game players, just like us! After all the intense shopping and good eating, we came back to the hotel and swam in the pool and jacuzzi :) We then had no idea that we would enter into the most intense game of pinochle that we had EVER played together!! We were up playing till 6AM and by then were supe super loopy! We were to the point of laughing at stupid things and being crazy silly! I have never laughed so hard in a looonng time :) We ended up just going down to eat our breakfast in the lobby at 6am BEFORE we went to bed for the night....WHAT A NIGHT!! All 4 of us will surely never forget that weekend! Hopefully more weekends like that to come soon....

I started working my new job and I am loving it! I miss being home to get things done, but reality has kicked in. I have worked there for about 3 weeks and am enjoying it so far! The atmosphere is much more laid back than in previous dental offices that I have worked for. I enjoy being able to do my own thing without having someone breathing down my neck :) The doctor I work for lives in Joseph, Oregon. He flies in to do patients a couple days a week and the other couple days I have time to prep the schedule, do billing and payments, and get things organized. I get to go to Joseph, Oregon next weekend to do some training on a new software program our office is getting! I hear it is gorgeous up there with a beautiful lake :) I hope to be able to bring Jordan with me and take some amazing pictures! Here are a few pics from the office!

I was excited to bring in some pics for my desk :)

After starting my new job, I got to go back to Twin Falls to see my family and do some photography!  It was great to see my parents and my brother after not seeing them since we got married :) I had alot of fun doing sessions for several people and some return clients! Saturday got winded out, but we moved a few around and made the best of it! I loved seeing families that I had previously worked with and how their little ones had grown! I have such a passion for photography and being able to do that AND see my family and friends in the same trip was amazing! I also got to see my sweet Heider boys that I used to nanny before we moved. Those boys are my favorite and I miss them so much. BUT, after 5 days of being away from the hubby, I was missing him and happy to be home with him again.

The weather has really cooled down here in Lewiston and the recent rain has helped with all the fires around this area. That makes for amazing orange sunsets every night in the convenience of our backyard. I LOVE sunsets <3

We are soooo excited for the holidays coming up! Warm sweaters, snuggly blankets, hot chocolate, and good company :) Excited to bake yummy goodies and make Christmas cards!

 From our home to yours, we hope all is well!

Everything and in between :)

As usual it has been a busy life at the Martitz house! It has taken me a couple weeks to finally get around to blogging, but I've snuck a few minutes to share :)

First off, a little good news :) I accepted a job at a local dental office a few days ago and I am thrilled to get started! I have been very very picky as far as applying for jobs since Jordan has such a great job and I wanted to be home when he was. Pretty much the only thing up here for jobs is retail and fast food. It has been discouraging at times, but I have also enjoyed the opportunity the settle in and be a stay at home wife for a few months :) I interviewed with the dental office and had a pretty good hunch they were going to call me back. Sure enough, the next day I recieved a phone call. I still hadn't made my mind up about how I felt about the practice and the interview, but then they offered me $4 more and hour than I expected. Needless to say, that was the deciding factor! I think most of it was that I was scared of how big of shoes I had to fill, but I am going to give it my all and do my best! I will be starting in the next few days. Can't wait!

The last few years, I have been MIA for Jordan's birthday for one reason or another, so it was a running joke with us after we got married if I was going to throw him a birthday party on his "half" birthday which is September 26th. He hadn't mention it since we got married and so I was hoping he totally forgot about it. I decided to go all out and throw a party with friends. Jordan never buys anything for himself so I figured it was a good excuse to spoil him :) While he was at work, I spent the whole day decorating and making his cake. I did a basketball theme and it turned out super cute! Our friends came over and we had lots of food and played games. He was super surprised and I was thrilled that I could actually pull it off! It is hard to pull one over on him without him knowin, but this girl snuck it past him! I was sooo proud of his cake that I made! Take a look :)

Looks yummy right?!

I am soooo happy that the weather is finally somewhat cooling down here! Even in the 70s and I am a happy girl! I love Fall, it is my favorite season! I love all the leaves changing, warm sweatshirts, and cuddling :) I broke out the sweaters and scarves a little early, but I decided to hurry on the fall spirit :)

We had had a few events also the last few weeks! Some friends of ours from Twin Falls live in Moscow now, which is about 25 min away from Lewiston! Their little girl, Addyson, turned 5 and so we got to drive up and celebrate with her! She is such a cutie and it was fun to catch up with friends :)

Happy Birthday Miss Addyson!!!

So as most of you know, I am a pinterest addict! I blogged previously about making a dry erase frame that says "I love you because". It has a dry erase marker by it and we take turns writing cute things on it. We were super good at doing it at first, but then it dwindled a little bit. BUT, about a week ago, I woke up to the sweetest surprise message! It made my day <3

Yup I have the best hubby!

Speaking of the best hubby, Jordan is KILLING his territory here in Lewiston! This last month was considered a "push" month where they have to sell more than usual for the company to make budget for the quarter. Jordan ended up achieving 118% of his budget!!!! WHEW!! He was so thrilled and I couldn't be more proud of him! He is doing so great with the territory and constantly growing new accounts. Way to go babe!

As many of you know, I have longed to start my own photography business for quite some time! I recently named my photography "Face Expressions Photography" and ordered business cards!! I met with the Small Business Development Center to acquire the proper licensing and I am looking to license the first part of next year. I am so excited to finally be following my dream in photography and sharing my passion with others!! check out my blog faceexpressionsphotography.blogspot.com or on facebook as "Face Expressions Photography".

So we have made some friends here in Lewiston, but best of all, the Jeppson's. We pretty much live at each other's houses several nights a week, and are up till wee hours of the morning on weekends, fighting over an intense game of pinochle or Rook. We <3 Jordan and Jenika and are so happy we met them :) They are crazy and fun just like us. PERFECT!

That about sums up our life right now :) New opportunities ahead and we are making Lewiston home. Jordan is on call coming up and so we are headed for Spokane, WA for the weekend with the Jeppson's full of shopping, food, and fun. Can't wait!!

Hope all is well with you and you family :)

Our adventures with Puppy Martitz

Our house had quite the adventure this last week! Jordan and I had talked slightly about maybe getting a dog in the future, but not while we were fresh newlyweds enjoying each other. You can see where this story is going huh? haha well this is only the beginning!

Last Saturday, we were headed to Walmart to get some food for a BBQ with some friends. As we were pulling up, there was a classic redneck sitting on the corner of the concrete sidewalk. While I was too busy pointing out that her well endowed chest was about to explode out of her tube top, Jordan happened to notice that she was selling puppies. I quickly got all excited and we stopped and looked at them :) They were  6 week old short haired mini chihuahuas and there were 2 little guys in a box. We fell in love with the cuties!!! The lady explained that she was from out of town visiting and her car broke down and she couldn't leave till she sold the puppies so she could get it fixed to go home. Normally I would call bull to a story like that, BUT her car was sitting behind her, was leaking everywhere, and was ANCIENT! She obviously wasn't the most responsible owner either as we noticed she was feeding 6 week old puppies Walmart beef jerky for food! ARE YOU KIDDING ME???!!  She was selling each purebred pup for $200. Jordan could tell I was giving him "the look" big time. We went inside to shop and told the lady we might be back.

After finishing our shopping, we drove back by the lady and sat from a distance while talking over the opportunity. Everyone knows what happens when you want something really bad. You make things sound soooo much better than they really will be and make promises you don't really mean :) This is exactly how it went down. Jordan thought they were really cute, but didn't want to deal with the hassle right now or dish out $200 for a puppy. I was smitten over how cute they were and gave every excuse why we would love a puppy and how he was perfect! Jordan gave in and said he would offer the lady the cash he had in his wallet ($100) and if she didn't agree, then we were heading home with no dog. I was already taking bets that she would say no, but I agreed.

 We walk up and of course I grab the one that stole my heart. Jordan offered her the money and without hesitation, she said she would take it! I was like OH MY GOSH! Part of me was happy and part of me was like holy crap what did we just get ourselves into!

She began telling us his birthday and information to get him shots....AND THEN! She starts going into detail about how not to feed him pork because the dad is allergic to it so he might be. WHAT THE????? WHY ON EARTH WOULD YOU BE FEEDING A 6 WEEK OLD PUPPY TABLE FOOD?! Seriously this woman was missing the french fries to her happy meal! But I was happy that we were getting him out of her wrath and into a good home. From there on out I referred to his adoption as a "rescue" because technically it was!
Here are some pics of the little guy :) :)

Driving home :)
We brought him home and not 20 min later, Jordan was holding him on the couch and peed all over his favorite shirt. Jordan was less than thrilled. The first night was rough. We didn't sleep whatsoever! He whined louder than any dog I have ever heard in my life!!! without letting up at all! 2 hours after listening to the loudest yelps EVER, we gave in to letting him sleep in our bed so we could gain at least a smidgen of sleep! Then he wanted to play and bite! Needless to say the first 2 days and nights were super rough. No sleep, peeing & pooping everywhere, couldn't get anything done unless he was sleeping, and constant teething! Yes all of this was expected, but I don't think I thought it would be that bad. IT WAS! After a few days, we decided that were weren't home enough to give him the attention he needed to play and potty train. We ended up putting an ad up to give him another home and a very nice lady came to get him after we had had him for 4 days.

I admit I cried. The first 2 days were rough, but the next 2 days were much better and I bonded with that little guy. He had that yummy puppy breath and kisses and was so playful. I had fun cuddling with him and him napping on my chest. He definitely nestled right into my heart even after just 4 days. Jordan enjoyed him too at times, but we both admitted that it just wasn't the right time. We are still fresh newlyweds and frankly weren't willing to share our bed with a dog that is smaller than Jordan's size 14 shoe. I miss hanging out with him during the day, but I am relieved to get back to my regular sleeping and house schedule!

Here are a few pics I snapped during our short time together!

Sad to see him go, but glad he is in a better place and away from the crazy Walmart parking lot :)

Whew that was a long story I know! My bad. Just couldn't leave out any details! ha ha

One more small bit of news this week.... I have my 2nd interview at Wells Fargo tomorrow!! Glad to finally be getting some prospects! Wish me luck!

We have a fun date night planned with some friends tomorrow :) Can't wait!

Slowly becoming {"H.O.M.E.Y"}

I've been hard at work lately to make our house a bit more "homey." All the bare walls are driving me crazy and so is not having any Fall decorations to make our house complete for the season :) I am working on several projects as we speak, but more about the incomplete ones later ;)

Project #1
I LOVED the D.I. in Twin Falls, and for those of you that don't know what D.I. is, it is an AWESOME thrift store that is sooo much better than your "average" thrift store. D.I. is full of clean, brand name items at steal prices! When we moved to Lewiston I was super sad that I couldn't find a decent thrift store that passed my expectations of being clean and not junky. I love to find thrift store finds and craft it to perfection! I finally passed by a thrift store that turned out to be a good one :) One day, I found this unfinished cabinet! It screamed "Craft me" all over it! We had been looking for a DVD cabinet for a while, but didn't wanna pay an arm and a leg for a cheapy one. Low and behold, I found and purchased this cabinet that I was sure I could make super cute with some stain!

So I took it home and bought the stain and supplies. Needless to say, this cabinet got the best of me in the staining phase! It was the worst thing EVER! When I was done, I had it all over my arms and legs and face and hair :( I was not a happy camper! After a little distressing and another stain on the edges, the final product was finished! It didn't turn out near what I expected or wanted, but for all the work I did, I wasn't about ready to just get rid of it. After a little rearranging of our living room and dressing it up with some decor, I have learned to love it :) Here is the finished product complete with some fall decor :) It works!

Project #2
We have a small nook in between our kitchen and living room. When we moved in, I aspired to have a long entryway table and to decorate all above it. We looked and looked for a decent table that was somewhat resonable in price and just couldn't find one that we were crazy about! I was getting impatient beings that that wall was bare and constantly staring at us. I was in ShopKo one day and despite hating that store, I found the best steal!! I went in looking for a bike tire and when I didn't find what I was looking for, I started leaving the store. On my way out, I noticed that they were clearancing out a BUNCH of furniture!!....and LOW AND BEHOLD our entry way table for a steal of $50 :) I was estatic!! Jordan was such a sweetie and put it together for me that night and I spent the next few days putting the wall together. Here is the completed "nook!!"

I am in the middle of a wall in our bedroom and the main wall in our kitchen. Those will take some time, but I will post pics when completed. There is just something about personalizing your own space that makes you feel so accomplished! I love it!

Good News of this week is....... I had a job interview FINALLY!!! It is super hard to find work out here that isn't fast food or retail, but thankfully I can be super picky to find something that I really want due to Jordan having such a good job to support us :) When we first moved to Lewiston, we went into Wells Fargo to combine all of our accounts. The Store Manager helped us and said they would have a teller position coming open soon and that I should apply. I applied and haven't heard for a long time in between running into him at the branch and at our ward. Coincidence? I think not! The position was finally posted and I had a phone interview with a recruiter on Thursday who passed me along to the formal interview at the branch! I was so happy! Everytime I go into the branch, all the tellers say "when you startin work here?" lol Nice to know they are rooting for me :) Haven't heard on the formal interview date, but I am being patient :)

I am going through serious photography withdrawals, especially after getting a job interview! I have always wanted to have a photography business doing what I love and someday that WILL be the case. Right now I take one day at a time, and be grateful for all that I have :) It has been super hard going from a huge group of clients in Twin Falls to none here in the Lewiston Valley! It makes it hard to even keep up as a hobby without sessions to shoot and edit :( I miss photography and hopefully I can get some sessions soon to cure this little girl's woes..... In the meantime, a girl can dream right?

Jordan's job is going pretty good as he is getting used to his new territory here in Lewiston. He has got some serious recognition lately from his district boss for his sales, installs, new customers, and territory coverage! Way to go babe :) The customers out here love him and are really happy to have him as their rep! That makes the transition ALOT easier and his hours not so off the wall. That makes for a happy wife :) :)

For Labor Day, we had sooo much fun here in Lewiston! Our ward had a big activity at a local park and we played softball and stuffed our face :) We met several young couples that we had fun visiting with and overall had a great day! After the activity, we went over to one of the couple's houses and played games with 3 other couples. We had a blast playing a game similar to charades :) All in all, it was a good day off and we made some friends while we were at it! Yay for us!

Well its official.... WE ARE GOING HOME TO TWIN FALLS FOR CHRISTMAS!!! I am so excited for our first Christmas together as a married couple and be able to spend it with both sets of families! We were debating whether to fly or drive and after much debate, we will be driving. It will be tough, but all in all it will be better to haul presents to and from and our mounds of luggage :) Yay for Christmas!

Until then, we are enjoying nightly sunsets like this one and everday joys & blessings :) :)

Date night & a FUN weekend

This past week brought some blog worthy events! It has been another busy week, but we were able to have some fun!

Jordan was servicing the University of Idaho campus in Moscow for work on Thursday and come to find out, it was opening game night for football! Jordan got talking to the head of concessions while he was doing his inspection, and Jordan started asking him about how much tickets were. The guy ended up offering him 2 free tickets to the game that night! Jordan surprised me with "date night" and didn't tell me where we were going :) We ended up eating at my favorite chinese restaurant, shopping at the mall, and then topped the night off with the Vandals game! I had never been to a college football game so it was very fun! We ended up losing, but it was all about the experience :) We were only a few rows from front row so the seats were awesome.

Here is the view!!! :) :)

In the stands :) Always fun to dress up cute and have "date night!!"

So.....after moving to Lewiston, I kind of went into shock due to not having hardly any stores. Well I had forgot that I would now need to find a new hairdresser too! While living in Twin Falls, I would always drive to Idaho Falls and have my super amazing cousin, Tenille, do my hair and color it. She always did a great job and so I have been spoiled for several years :) I really needed my highlights touched up at the roots... like BAD. It came down that I hadn't straightened my hair for weeks because it looked so bad. So I found a salon that looked credible in Clarkston and decided to wing it. It is hard to find people that understand how to cut and color SUPER curly hair! I was really scared how it would turn out beings that the girl that I ended up with acted like she was fresh out of beauty school! I was texting Jordan the whole time freaking out that it was gonna be bad. Out of some miracle is came out great and I just needed to relax even though I was out of my comfort zone.

I was seriously scared and took a pic while waiting for the finished product. Enough foil ya think?? I always laugh when they mix the product, get halfway through, and then run out and say ,"Dang you got alot of hair!" I chuckle silently and smile :) :)

The finished product!!! Not too shabby huh?!

Once every 5 weekends, Jordan is on call for the entire district. During the week, everyone is responsible for their own territory and then everyone in the district rotates covering weekends so everyone can have time off. This last weekend, it was Jordan's turn to be on call. This included covering the entire district and the majority of the calls are usually in the Spokane/Cour d'Alene area. Good thing those areas are only about 20 min apart! We decided to go up and spend the weekend up there since he would have to head up there anyway for emergency calls. We got to eat yummy food at Olive Garden and Red Robin, our FAVORITES! In between his work calls, we shopped at the huge malls and got to see all kinds of places :) Good weekend well spent!

 Me, being a supportive wife, waiting in the car for him to do his quick fix :)

I had been wanting a really cute Fossil watch for a while, but was holding out for the perfect purchase or maybe one for Christmas. We went into Kohl's and saw this one :) It was almost everything I had picked out, minus a few minor details. Looked at the pricetag. IT WAS 80% OFF!! You can't beat $15 for a ceramic Relic watch! So Jordan was a sweetie and bought it for me just cuz :) I love it!!!

After an exciting week, we are enjoying just relaxing tonight :) Tomorrow is Labor Day and we plan to have some fun playing baseball and having a picnic with some friends! Should be tons of fun! Then its back to work for Jordan and back to my many projects :) Between applying for the few jobs I can find, and decorating blank walls in our house, I'm keeping busy! We are so blessed <3
