What a month March was for our little family! We had no idea what this month had in store for us! It has turned our world upside down, made us smile & laugh, and also called for a lot of prayer and heartache. Here is the recap of such a wild month! I can only imagine how long this post is going to be.....
We started out March with an under the weather princess :( Ugghh hurts my heart to see her not feeling good! Extra snuggles for mommy.....
Sick and still so smiley <3 I love it!
Lots of snuggling with blankies.... Her fever wasn't fun!
Nothing like folding laundry and catching up on the Voice with my princess on my lap!
Easter decor is out!
On Sundays, we play dress up for church :)
This is what happens when you get up at the crack of dawn, scream and throw fits all throughout church, and are too tired to care about lunch..... uggghh #momlife
This is how we do Spring in Idaho... indoor living room carpet picnic! Those 20mph winds couldn't stop us!
I probably sound like a broken record, but this girl makes my heart burst. She is so special!!
Such a cute little helper! Dusting was cool until she got distracted by her Doc McStuffins tent!
The weather was still nippy, but we headed to the park to try and hurry up the warmth and sunshine!
We Voted :)
Must, wear, voting sticker. on. forehead. ha ha!!
She sure loves the toys at Chick-fil-A!
All tuckered out after playing. Mom for the win!
We headed to the airport to pick up a BIG surprise for Jordan! <3 The suspense was killing me FOREVER and the day FINALLY came!
And here he is!! A couple weeks before Jordan's birthday, I flew his best friend out here as a surprise from California! Jordan had no idea and was blown away when I showed up with him at Jordan's basketball game on Thursday night. The look on his face was priceless! It was Anthony's first time flying too! They have been friends since grade school and had a fun guys weekend together <3 We started off with lunch at our favorite, Blaze Pizza!
While Jordan and Anthony were hanging out for the weekend, Adalynn and I headed to Twin Falls so the guys could have the house to themselves! Adalynn was OUT before we even got on the freeway :)
First stop was seeing Grandma at work! Adalynn was thrilled to listen in her headphones and didn't know what to think about that.
We went to see Aunt Kerin at work too, but Adalynn was too busy running all over her store in between the clothes, so a pic was out of the question!
We headed to Grandma's house till she came home from work and Adalynn ran in and always heads straight for her flashlights ha ha silly girl!
This girl is sure crazy about her grandpa!! These moments make my heart so happy! <3
Just recently got a job at Orange Leaf, so we went to say hi.
"Sorry guys, I know you're trying to pay for your yogurt, but that's my uncle Justin if you didn't know..." ha ha!
She was obsessed with letting everyone know that that was her uncle Justin by running up and pointing and yelling, "Justin! Justin!" We were all cracking up!
Grandma had quite the Easter basket for Adalynn including a matching purse and hat. To say she was obsessed is a total understatement! I had to bribe her to take it off for bed!
My heart is bursting... that is all <3 Bedtime stories with Grandma!
Crazy wild sleeper!
Before we headed back to Boise, we went out to say hi to great Grandma and Grandpa Dutry. Adalynn loved all her Easter decor and even posed for a picture. Priceless!
After coming back to boise, I was making dinner and sliced a nice chunk out of my finger with a serrated knife.... OUCH is an understatement!!
Adalynn soon was back to under the weather with a cruddy cough, cold, and runny nose.....
Things had been rough to say the least. Jordan had some pretty crazy things going with his job, my finger had a huge chunk cut out of it, Adalynn was sick, and the list went on and on..... My sweet visiting teacher left this little ray of sunshine on our porch while I was out running errands one day! Just the pick-me-up I needed :)
Jordan also knew I was struggling and surprised me with my favorite chips and salsa from Matador when he came home from work! He sure knows the way to my heart and smile!!
This is the part of my post where things get crazy and so surreal.....
Ok so a few weeks ago, Jordan got a random call from a district manager in the Portland area. He told him that he and the area vice president were flying out to interview him for a promotion.....While we were thrilled for the opportunity in his Career, we swallowed hard because Vancouver wasn't exactly where we wanted to live. We were so torn, but knew that he needed to do the interview and find out all the details before a decision was made. The interview went great of course and they called the same day to fly our family out to Portland/Vancouver to check it out and see if we would consider moving..... So shortly after, we dropped everything and left on a plane. I can't really explain our feelings at the time other than completely and totally torn.... We pursued the opportunity and hoped we would find some peace in whatever we decided when the trip was done. The flew us out there, put us up in a hotel for 5 days and we had a rental car to explore the area. We thought that after all the stress and everything going on that it would be a nice little relaxing getaway.....but it was FAR from that.
Adalynn did great on the plane and loved the adventure of take off and looking out the window. She was a champ for her second time flying!
She was a little excited and daddy was done with her squirminess.....
Selfies with mom.... how could we not?!
A straight jacket was a close call for the last 15 min of the flight ha ha! She was ready to be able to run around!
Hello Portland <3
Adalynn settled right in and I never knew that a toddler could get into so many things in a one room hotel room! She explored it all and loved snuggling in mommy and daddy's bed!
After a long day of traveling, unwinding in the pool was the perfect thing for these two cuties <3
This is what happens when daddy goes to "lay by" Adalynn for bedtime ha ha! They were both snoring like crazy.....
Checking out the Vancouver mall! She would go and say hi to the Easter Bunny, but don't ask her to sit on his lap or take a picture. Stubborn girl!
Driving with dad <3 She was hooked!
Adalynn was still having a hard time breathing at night with her cold, cough, and yucky nose so she liked to come crawl in our bed in the middle of the night. She found a spot she like right in the middle of our pillows! Good thing she is so cute :)
At this point in our trip, things were crazy intense.... They offered the job to Jordan with a tentative start date of May 1st! Yikes! Wayyy sooner than we even imagined..... We were still so torn as to what we should do. We rode around with a realtor and the market there is so cutthroat! The cost of living is way higher there and homes sell within hours of being listed. We looked at several that were very dingy and also found several we liked that were already pending. We were very discouraged and stressed trying to discern between a bad feeling and just not wanting to live in Vancouver. Our housing search was very discouraging and we found pretty much nothing... We pulled into the Target parking lot and I was pretty much in tears. We pulled up our phones again, hoping to find something that we missed. Jordan found a house that was already pending in a subdivision, but there was another one in the same subdivision that was available and wasn't listed by some crazy mistake. The couple of brokers that were in charge of listing those homes made a mistake and both thought the other one had listed it. We called our realtor right away to go look at it and she made them promise not to list it until we looked at it because otherwise, it would be gone and for way more than asking price. It was a brand new townhome in a perfect central location. We looked at it right away and loved it. Compared to what we looked at, this was such a blessing to us and it was even way under our budget and brand new! How could you beat that? We had till the end of the day to decide to offer or not, otherwise they were going to list it....
We headed to an indoor playland to let Adalynn play while we talked over what we wanted to do. Adalynn had been drug all over in the car looking at houses, so she was totally thrilled to get to play at indoor playhouse with all kinds of toys and slides!
WIPEOUT!
After a while of talking it over, we decided to take a leap of faith and put in an offer on the house that we liked. Even though we were so heartbroken about being away from family and in a place we didn't really care for, we knew that we needed to just do it. This position is a stepping stone position for 2 years before the position that Jordan wants to be in permanently. If we waited for another offer, it would be in a place that would be just as bad if not worse as to where we would want to live. Ripping the bandaid now and getting the moving done before Adalynn starts school is our goal. It was a scary decision, but we both had faith and had prayed for an answer and we felt like we had got it, even though it wasn't what we wanted to hear. Our offer was accepted on the house and we were on our way to soon be living in Vancouver, WA which is about 10 min across the river from Portland.
After a crazy several days of looking for houses, crying tears, and eating mexican food on our hotel room floor at 10pm at night, we spent our last day taking Adalynn to the zoo. We visited the zoo last year in Portland and it was AMAZING so with Adalynn being a little bit bigger, we decided to treat her to a fun day!
It was sunny and warm and the perfect day for the zoo!
She loved the bears!
Of course with her love for turtles, they were a hit also!
We were lucky enough to view a feeding of a carcass... YUCK!
Before we left, some people joked about us heading to the land of hippes. Well they weren't joking! We decided to drive around and check out the neighborhood of our soon to be house in Vancouver. Up the street 5 minutes was a nice Costco, so went inside to check it out. We passed at least 10 people with colored hair......
Racing daddy down the hall every time, pressing the elevator buttons, calling the front desk, eating donuts at breakfast, and sleeping with mom and dad.. She lived the good life for the 4 days in the hotel! A big airplane ride and she was ready to be home.... <3
One last swim before we flew out the next day!
Love these two fishies to the moon!!
Snuggles!
Bathing beauty :) Of course dragon and Doc had to make the trip with us!
She loved to snuggle up and watch Daniel Tiger at night on her tablet. She was such a trooper for all the stuff we had to do while we were there!
Returning the rental car is hard work! This sleepy girl was ready to be home!
Oh how I love this little family of mine! Ready to take off :)
She was OUT on the ride back to Boise!
Welcome home <3
A few days after being back, we made the official announcement on fb!
Jordan was puking right after we got home and Adalynn was doing the same only out the other end.... So we went to Chick-fil-A. Where our house would stay clean and put together for showings, and I could count to ten with a frozen lemonade. Yay for making it through the day!!
Heavenly Father sure has a way of opening doors to help you get where he needs you to be <3 After our house being listed for less than 24 hours, we received multiple offers with a bidding war. Feeling blessed is an understatement! It helped to confirm that we made the right decision <3
This sweet girl had a rough week with hardly any play time! She was drug all over in cars and airplanes to get us ready to move.....she just went with the flow <3 Love her!!
The things we get suckered into as a mom.....Biggest cart ever! Caution: Wide turns!
<3
She sure was feeling silly! She stole these out of my drawer and put them on all by herself. ha ha! Gave me a good chuckle!
Her silliness didn't stop there,... She then did this little ensemble all by herself! Elmo bib loin cloth and bunny ears lol
Headed for a lunch date with dad to sign some papers... Can you tell how excited she was?! She looks so grown up!
Easter weekend was jam packed with fun! It was Jordan's birthday on top of Easter, and Jordan's family came up to celebrate. It was also Nolan's birthday the week before, so it was a weekend of celebrating birthdays and Easter!
We started off Saturday with our HOA Easter breakfast and egg hunt!
These easter egg hunts are no joke ha ha Jordan marched her over to her age area group and gave her the low down <3
She had a blast and even won a prize! A set of hotwheel cars!
Egg hunting is hard work.... She was out from all the morning fun!
Out to dinner to celebrate the birthday boys! We went to a favorite, Casa Del Matador!
Jordan and Nolan, the birthday boys <3
We came back to open presents and do cake!
After presents, we all headed off to the IMAX to see Batman vs Super man movie that just came out! Coming home after to find this sweet princess fast asleep just made my heart so happy <3
Hippity Hop, the Easter Bunny came!
Happy Easter!
Jurgen & Kerin
Egg hunting after Easter dinner. I don't think that smile could be any bigger!!
She was all about opening up all the eggs and eating the candy out!
Teaching Uncle Nolan how to play her new fishy game!
She always makes me smile... you never know what she is going to say next!
A beautiful 65 degree day, so we headed to the park for a picnic!
All over the toys! Such a monkey!
These two make my heart skip a beat! How cute are they?!
Gee do ya think that FOUR blankies are enough?!
Such a cute goober <3
Morning walk to see the horses! Oh Idaho we are sure going to miss you!!
So we didn't get any pictures, but our friends from Lewiston came through Boise and we went to eat and catch up! So fun!
Well, there is March in a big nutshell. Hard to believe that this is my last blog post before we move! We are still trying to swallow it all.... Fingers crossed that all goes smooth from here on out! We have been so stressed with all the details and are looking forward to things calming down.... SOON hopefully <3
Love,
Jordan & Elise
