Another month down and a lot to report! Summer is definitely around the corner and has given us glimpses of super hot weather! This coming week, we have a heat warning to get up to 110 degrees! Whoa! Thank goodness for AC, I have a feeling we are going to need it :) I snapped this after work one day!

Again it has been some time since I have blogged recent happenings, so back it up a little bit to Memorial Day! The weather was rainy and somewhat cool so we hung in the house with some great friends, played cards, ate some good food, and went to the park :) Nothing beats a day off just relaxin!

Soon after Memorial Day, our friends Kim and Greg Hemmert were FINALLY able to adopt their sweet foster child that they have had since he was a baby! It was such an exciting day and he had so many people there to support him!! We love Mr. Isaac and he was such a little prince :)

We were able to make a visit out to Twin Falls again for the weekend of Father's Day. Such an awesome trip! My aunt and uncle and cousins were also there visiting from Arizona :) My cousin Riley will be leaving on his mission to England soon so we of course had to sneak in some pictures! Our middle name is fun and we crammed so much in that weekend, it was the best! We got to go spend time with both families, go jet skiing several times in the river, see the races at the speedway, go bowling, see the new superman movie, do pictures, and spend time with dad for Father's day :) My mom had a bit of a scare with some severe chest pains and had to spend some of father's day at the hospital getting some tests done. Not fun! Glad that she is doing better! Always grateful for time spent with family in Twin Falls :)

Last weekend we were able to make an overnight trip to Spokane for a special trip! We went with some friends from work to Jeff Dunham! We love his shows and comedy and it was so good. I got all dolled up to go and it ended up pouring rain and of course, it was outside! He was worth sitting in the rain though :) We stayed the night and spent the next day shopping and eating at our favorite burger place, Fatburger :)

Since the weather is warming up, we are finally able to start doing outdoor things! Between buying Jordan a bike and finding a bike rack to fit our car, we have been excited to take a bike ride along the river in Lewiston/Clarkston. The Hemmerts took a ride with us after getting a new bike trailer for Isaac and Remi. Our cheeks were super sore the next few days after the 4 mile ride, but it was a beautiful night and ride!

July brings some exciting things like our FIRST anniversary and my family will be coming to visit for the 4th of July for the first time since we have lived in Lewiston. This girl is SUPER excited! Not that Lewiston is exciting or anything..... :)

I had to be to work super super early yesterday morning and was able to watch the breathtaking sunrise! I may not like living in Lewiston for several reasons, but their sunrises and sunsets are amazing :)

It has been raining like CRAZY the past few days and here is a snapshot of just how insane it has been! There is a HUGE blue bridge that spans the river between Lewiston and Clarkston and after all the rain today, it was completely flooded! Check out this pic.... Holy cow!

Well that is about the coolest things we have had happen this past month and we are looking forward to family visits, camping, and pure craziness in July with everything we have going on! August brings a trip to Twin falls for photography sessions and..... BEAR LAKE!! Ahh can't wait!!

On an unrelated note, I made this amazing recipe for the first time and it was TO DIE FOR! If you missed the facebook posting of the recipe, here it is again! Try it. Do it. Love it.

A weekend away in Twin Falls {Good to come HOME}

This past weekend we snuck away to Twin Falls for a whole 4 days! As usual our days are completely packed while we are there between both families, friends, and relatives :)

Jordan's sister, Kerin, loves to play volleyball. Jordan and I used to play on a rec league here in Lewiston as well. Kerin set up a game with a bunch of her friends and I got to go and watch them play! It was definitely intense and some good games!

One set of my grandparents were out of town visiting Arizona for my cousin's graduation, but nevertheless, Grandma Rice made sure that I was stocked up with my favorite stuff when we came even though they wouldn't be there! SO excited! I love this stuff!! It is the best :)

.
We had fun hanging out with both families and visiting friends. The day before we left, it was warm enough to take the jet skiis out with my parents for the first time of the season! I was soooo excited! My dad knew how much I was itching to go, so he made sure they were summerized by the time we came to visit :) It was a warm afternoon and we were able to have a fun picnic down at Shoshone Falls and then ride! Despite getting tipped over by my wonderful husband and getting dunked in the river, it was a great night with family!

Because we were so busy with things planned, I didn't have much time for photography sessions, but I made sure to squeeze in a few!! I did a super fun birthday shoot that I am editing right now so here is a few from the session....

On the way home, we met my grandparents in Boise at Olive Garden for some dinner. YUM!! The drive home was long and felt even longer beings that part of it was in the dark. Not a fan. Leave it to Jordan to keep things interesting though... With a few hours left of the drive, it started downpouring in the mountains which were already pitch black. He decided to be funny and roll my window down, in the downpouring rain, going 75mph.....Ya needless to say I wasn't a happy camper. What can I say though, he keeps things interesting!!

We are so grateful for summer and the opportunity for us to visit home several times thanks to good weather and good roads! We will be back in a few weeks to spend time with Arizona family before my cousin Riley leaves on his mission to England!! So proud of him!! and then back for the 4th of July for sure :) LOVE family.. It seriously is the best thing in life!!!

We are getting back into the swing of things in Lewiston after the visit. We were welcomed back with Jordan getting food poisoning from Buffalo Wild Wings, rainy weather ALL week, and all the unpacking from traveling :( Go figure! The upside to all of this.... I snapped this awesome picture after some rain we had after seeing The Fast and the Furious 6 in theatre. I have never seen a rainbow this big!! I couldn't even fit it all into one picture!!

Looking forward to a fantastic Memorial Day with friends :)

Bring on ::Summer 2013::

The weather has warmed up and we are sooooo excited for Summer!! Lewiston is right above sea level so it is the hottest place in Idaho and can get up to 110 degrees in the Summer!! Whew! We didn't really have a "warm period". It went from cold to hot and has been scorching ever since. Last week it was 95 outside for several days. I took a picture on my way home from work to prove we were in the 90's :) Yes we cranked on the AC and enjoyed the sunshine and being able to do things outside finally!!

Sporting some Summer colors and crazy curly hair!!

Speaking of nice weather, we are LOVING the new car :) Nice weather takes on a whole new meaning when you can open the sunroof and catch some rays! The maxima got it's first car wash and it was so sparkling clean, I couldn't resist taking a pic of it. Ya it is kind of my baby :)

Sunroof down and driving to Spokane...Ohhhhh yeah :) Funny faces and good music!

After 8 months of working at Chief Joseph Dental Clinic, my status has now been made name plate official, finally!! It has been quite a ride, but I am grateful for a good paying job that I thoroughly enjoy :) I work with and for some good people and have a great schedule. Things have been intensly busy lately! Recently, I went and ran the Oregon office for a day while some staff was gone. It is located in Joseph, OR and it is quite the drive! It is super windy and is about 2 hours away! I had to leave at like 6am to get there in time for patients, so I was a bit grumpy, but the sunrise view was amazing!!

A couple weeks ago, we celebrated my birthday :) It was a pretty crummy day, but Jordan made it special when I got off work! We went and ate at Rooster's, which is a super yummy place right by the river in Clarkston. Jordan brough home flowers and a sweet card and spoiled me with a new lens for my photography and an itunes card to download some new tunes :) we just spent the night together relaxing and he later sang happy birthday to me, complete with candles in the gallon of mint chocolate chip icecream. Ya we are kinda silly!

I recently tried out my new lens with some friends of ours :) They have a sweet boy Isaac that they will be finally adopting in 2 weeks, so we had some fun by the water with him taking some sweet shots! Check them out! I can't offically post the full album until he is officially adopted in 2 weeks, so here is a few teasers!

We have been pretty much living in Spokane these last several weekends for Jordan's work! While we have been there, we have done some fun things :) A few weeks ago while we were there, we went to an antique show and I scored a vintage cradle to do newborn sessions with! SO excited to do a session with it! We have ate some good food, seen some amazing sunsets, and went to see a few movies and shopping too.

As usual, Jordan has been running himself ragged with work and family obligations. He never stops I swear! Always getting things done and working hard. So proud of such a hardworking husband! He has been out of town the last few days and finally came home yesterday! I suprised him with a crapload of basketball cards that I found at a thrift store. He was so excited to sort them all and see all the good rookie cards. What a find! He has collected basketball cards since he was a little kid and that is one of his only hobbies that he can squeeze in right now in between work and life! He had fun spending all night sorting them :)

Despite being extremely busy always working, he always seems to sneak in some time to surprise me at work with lunch here and there and just when I need it the most with having a super busy and stressful day!

We have enjoyed spending time with friends on a regular basis! Some friend of ours have a couple super cute kids that get to hang out with sometimes! We watched them the other night and took them to park and hung out with them at the house. So much fun! We love miss Remi and Isaac :)

That's about all I have to report...whew! Lots of pictures, but I know you aren't surprised by that one! Hope you are enjoying your warming up weather, we sure are!!

Playing catch up via pic OVERLOAD

I am always on my blog. Honestly. I love reading everyone's stories and fun experiences. Yes I know I haven't posted since February, and frankly that didn't occur to me until about last week :) Life is busy and so is photography which leaves little "extra" time. I am going to attempt to play catch up from February and what better way to do that than with... pictures!!!!

After many highlight and haircut mishaps in Lewiston, I decided to give up and go back to all one color my natural color. I haven't been without highlights since I was like 15 so it was a big change for me! I do like it more than I though I would :) Here is to being all brunette!

At the end of March, we went on vacation to California for a week and a half! After flying in, we started out in Simi Valley seeing some of Jordan's family's friends and stayed with them for a few days. I even was able to so a session of pictures for them! We then met up with my family from Idaho and Arizona in Anaheim to go to Disneyland, California Adventure, and Universal Studios! We had a blast with all the cousins and family :) Our trip ended with Jordan going with Jack to a suite for the Lakers game at Staples Center in LA. He was so excited and was all decked out with purple and yellow :) They had premium food and were super close to the court from the suite!

Here is before the game :)

Splash Mountain, our favorite!! All the cousins in one log and the adults in the other log.

Jordan's birthday came on March 26th and we celebrated with dinner that night and a comedy show in Spokane the following weekend! I got him tickets to see Tracy Morgan at the Fox Theatre :) It was a quiet, but fun birthday!

I am still doing photography sessions on the side when I am not working full time and I can squeeze in a couple hours! Hopefully someday I can do it full time, but for now word of mouth is working great, and I have several returning clients!!  Take a peek at what I have been up to :)

Behind the scenes at a recent shoot
That behind the scenes turned into this capture!
And her announcement from the session :)

If you haven't seen my facebook posts, you are missing out. I am married to someone who is literally a laugh a minute! He is always coming up with the most off the wall sayings and funny things. The most recent one made me laugh so hard I was literally about to pee my pants!! One night I went into our bathroom to brush my teeth and I walked in to find this....

Ya see what I mean???!!! Laugh a minute!!! He was like "What? I needed a splash guard!" Oh my gosh I was seriously rolling on the floor... I couldn't even look at the pic without cracking up! Love him!

We have been hanging on for dear life with our ancient appliances in our kitchen. They were twenty something years old!!! We were sooo happy to hear that our landlords decided to replace them when our dishwasher started going out. We now have super sleek black and stainless steel appliances. Other than them taking 4 hours to install, we love them!!

And a few random pics from everyday life...

Sunsets like this every night from our backyard!! LOVE!!

Jordan's job has been going great!! He is busier than ever and making some big sales! He just got done with his annual ride along with his boss where he has to meet certain criteria for his territory. He not only met, but exceeded everything!!! Later that day, we headed out for some Frisbee golf to celebrate a successful day with lots of good news only be interrupted by a work call to let him know that he sold a $14,000 account!! He has been working with a large chain hotel that is being built in Moscow to sell that account. He has worked very hard and it all paid off in the end with getting a new account worth a lot for his territory!!

And for the most recent news that happened just this weekend.... We bought a new car!!!

We decided a little while ago that it was time for the dinosaur red focus of mine to go! I have had my focus for 6 years and it has been a die hard car and has taken a beating. We wanted to get a new car that had a lot of room (for future Martitz family additions down the road) and I really wanted a V6. I like my power what can I say :) We went back and forth between whether to get a truck or a car. We both really wanted a truck, but decided to wait till we had kids. Our favorite car was the Maxima and we just had to find the right one. We planned a getaway weekend to Spokane at a resort this past weekend and shopped for cars the WHOLE weekend. WHEW! Talk about tiring! We almost came home empty handed, but ended up scoring an amazing deal with the car with love that is LOADED! We are both thrilled! It is a maroon 2012 Nissan Maxima. It has a sunroof, is the sports edition, keyless, the whole nine yards!! I am spoiled what can I say :) Bye bye banged up focus!! It was fun to drive home and soak in that new car smell! We are so excited!!

Well that is all to get caught up... I know it was a lot. I am going to keep it caught up now that's for sure! For the final picture, I snapped a shot at sunset from the 7th floor of our hotel in Spokane. So beautiful!! It took my breath away!

We are counting down the days until summer and gearing up for trips to Twin Falls, camping with friends in July, and whatever else life throws at us :)
