A weekend away in Twin Falls {Good to come HOME}

This past weekend we snuck away to Twin Falls for a whole 4 days! As usual our days are completely packed while we are there between both families, friends, and relatives :)

Jordan's sister, Kerin, loves to play volleyball. Jordan and I used to play on a rec league here in Lewiston as well. Kerin set up a game with a bunch of her friends and I got to go and watch them play! It was definitely intense and some good games!

One set of my grandparents were out of town visiting Arizona for my cousin's graduation, but nevertheless, Grandma Rice made sure that I was stocked up with my favorite stuff when we came even though they wouldn't be there! SO excited! I love this stuff!! It is the best :)

.
We had fun hanging out with both families and visiting friends. The day before we left, it was warm enough to take the jet skiis out with my parents for the first time of the season! I was soooo excited! My dad knew how much I was itching to go, so he made sure they were summerized by the time we came to visit :) It was a warm afternoon and we were able to have a fun picnic down at Shoshone Falls and then ride! Despite getting tipped over by my wonderful husband and getting dunked in the river, it was a great night with family!

Because we were so busy with things planned, I didn't have much time for photography sessions, but I made sure to squeeze in a few!! I did a super fun birthday shoot that I am editing right now so here is a few from the session....

On the way home, we met my grandparents in Boise at Olive Garden for some dinner. YUM!! The drive home was long and felt even longer beings that part of it was in the dark. Not a fan. Leave it to Jordan to keep things interesting though... With a few hours left of the drive, it started downpouring in the mountains which were already pitch black. He decided to be funny and roll my window down, in the downpouring rain, going 75mph.....Ya needless to say I wasn't a happy camper. What can I say though, he keeps things interesting!!

We are so grateful for summer and the opportunity for us to visit home several times thanks to good weather and good roads! We will be back in a few weeks to spend time with Arizona family before my cousin Riley leaves on his mission to England!! So proud of him!! and then back for the 4th of July for sure :) LOVE family.. It seriously is the best thing in life!!!

We are getting back into the swing of things in Lewiston after the visit. We were welcomed back with Jordan getting food poisoning from Buffalo Wild Wings, rainy weather ALL week, and all the unpacking from traveling :( Go figure! The upside to all of this.... I snapped this awesome picture after some rain we had after seeing The Fast and the Furious 6 in theatre. I have never seen a rainbow this big!! I couldn't even fit it all into one picture!!

Looking forward to a fantastic Memorial Day with friends :)

Bring on ::Summer 2013::

The weather has warmed up and we are sooooo excited for Summer!! Lewiston is right above sea level so it is the hottest place in Idaho and can get up to 110 degrees in the Summer!! Whew! We didn't really have a "warm period". It went from cold to hot and has been scorching ever since. Last week it was 95 outside for several days. I took a picture on my way home from work to prove we were in the 90's :) Yes we cranked on the AC and enjoyed the sunshine and being able to do things outside finally!!

Sporting some Summer colors and crazy curly hair!!

Speaking of nice weather, we are LOVING the new car :) Nice weather takes on a whole new meaning when you can open the sunroof and catch some rays! The maxima got it's first car wash and it was so sparkling clean, I couldn't resist taking a pic of it. Ya it is kind of my baby :)

Sunroof down and driving to Spokane...Ohhhhh yeah :) Funny faces and good music!

After 8 months of working at Chief Joseph Dental Clinic, my status has now been made name plate official, finally!! It has been quite a ride, but I am grateful for a good paying job that I thoroughly enjoy :) I work with and for some good people and have a great schedule. Things have been intensly busy lately! Recently, I went and ran the Oregon office for a day while some staff was gone. It is located in Joseph, OR and it is quite the drive! It is super windy and is about 2 hours away! I had to leave at like 6am to get there in time for patients, so I was a bit grumpy, but the sunrise view was amazing!!

A couple weeks ago, we celebrated my birthday :) It was a pretty crummy day, but Jordan made it special when I got off work! We went and ate at Rooster's, which is a super yummy place right by the river in Clarkston. Jordan brough home flowers and a sweet card and spoiled me with a new lens for my photography and an itunes card to download some new tunes :) we just spent the night together relaxing and he later sang happy birthday to me, complete with candles in the gallon of mint chocolate chip icecream. Ya we are kinda silly!

I recently tried out my new lens with some friends of ours :) They have a sweet boy Isaac that they will be finally adopting in 2 weeks, so we had some fun by the water with him taking some sweet shots! Check them out! I can't offically post the full album until he is officially adopted in 2 weeks, so here is a few teasers!

We have been pretty much living in Spokane these last several weekends for Jordan's work! While we have been there, we have done some fun things :) A few weeks ago while we were there, we went to an antique show and I scored a vintage cradle to do newborn sessions with! SO excited to do a session with it! We have ate some good food, seen some amazing sunsets, and went to see a few movies and shopping too.

As usual, Jordan has been running himself ragged with work and family obligations. He never stops I swear! Always getting things done and working hard. So proud of such a hardworking husband! He has been out of town the last few days and finally came home yesterday! I suprised him with a crapload of basketball cards that I found at a thrift store. He was so excited to sort them all and see all the good rookie cards. What a find! He has collected basketball cards since he was a little kid and that is one of his only hobbies that he can squeeze in right now in between work and life! He had fun spending all night sorting them :)

Despite being extremely busy always working, he always seems to sneak in some time to surprise me at work with lunch here and there and just when I need it the most with having a super busy and stressful day!

We have enjoyed spending time with friends on a regular basis! Some friend of ours have a couple super cute kids that get to hang out with sometimes! We watched them the other night and took them to park and hung out with them at the house. So much fun! We love miss Remi and Isaac :)

That's about all I have to report...whew! Lots of pictures, but I know you aren't surprised by that one! Hope you are enjoying your warming up weather, we sure are!!

Playing catch up via pic OVERLOAD

I am always on my blog. Honestly. I love reading everyone's stories and fun experiences. Yes I know I haven't posted since February, and frankly that didn't occur to me until about last week :) Life is busy and so is photography which leaves little "extra" time. I am going to attempt to play catch up from February and what better way to do that than with... pictures!!!!

After many highlight and haircut mishaps in Lewiston, I decided to give up and go back to all one color my natural color. I haven't been without highlights since I was like 15 so it was a big change for me! I do like it more than I though I would :) Here is to being all brunette!

At the end of March, we went on vacation to California for a week and a half! After flying in, we started out in Simi Valley seeing some of Jordan's family's friends and stayed with them for a few days. I even was able to so a session of pictures for them! We then met up with my family from Idaho and Arizona in Anaheim to go to Disneyland, California Adventure, and Universal Studios! We had a blast with all the cousins and family :) Our trip ended with Jordan going with Jack to a suite for the Lakers game at Staples Center in LA. He was so excited and was all decked out with purple and yellow :) They had premium food and were super close to the court from the suite!

Here is before the game :)

Splash Mountain, our favorite!! All the cousins in one log and the adults in the other log.

Jordan's birthday came on March 26th and we celebrated with dinner that night and a comedy show in Spokane the following weekend! I got him tickets to see Tracy Morgan at the Fox Theatre :) It was a quiet, but fun birthday!

I am still doing photography sessions on the side when I am not working full time and I can squeeze in a couple hours! Hopefully someday I can do it full time, but for now word of mouth is working great, and I have several returning clients!!  Take a peek at what I have been up to :)

Behind the scenes at a recent shoot
That behind the scenes turned into this capture!
And her announcement from the session :)

If you haven't seen my facebook posts, you are missing out. I am married to someone who is literally a laugh a minute! He is always coming up with the most off the wall sayings and funny things. The most recent one made me laugh so hard I was literally about to pee my pants!! One night I went into our bathroom to brush my teeth and I walked in to find this....

Ya see what I mean???!!! Laugh a minute!!! He was like "What? I needed a splash guard!" Oh my gosh I was seriously rolling on the floor... I couldn't even look at the pic without cracking up! Love him!

We have been hanging on for dear life with our ancient appliances in our kitchen. They were twenty something years old!!! We were sooo happy to hear that our landlords decided to replace them when our dishwasher started going out. We now have super sleek black and stainless steel appliances. Other than them taking 4 hours to install, we love them!!

And a few random pics from everyday life...

Sunsets like this every night from our backyard!! LOVE!!

Jordan's job has been going great!! He is busier than ever and making some big sales! He just got done with his annual ride along with his boss where he has to meet certain criteria for his territory. He not only met, but exceeded everything!!! Later that day, we headed out for some Frisbee golf to celebrate a successful day with lots of good news only be interrupted by a work call to let him know that he sold a $14,000 account!! He has been working with a large chain hotel that is being built in Moscow to sell that account. He has worked very hard and it all paid off in the end with getting a new account worth a lot for his territory!!

And for the most recent news that happened just this weekend.... We bought a new car!!!

We decided a little while ago that it was time for the dinosaur red focus of mine to go! I have had my focus for 6 years and it has been a die hard car and has taken a beating. We wanted to get a new car that had a lot of room (for future Martitz family additions down the road) and I really wanted a V6. I like my power what can I say :) We went back and forth between whether to get a truck or a car. We both really wanted a truck, but decided to wait till we had kids. Our favorite car was the Maxima and we just had to find the right one. We planned a getaway weekend to Spokane at a resort this past weekend and shopped for cars the WHOLE weekend. WHEW! Talk about tiring! We almost came home empty handed, but ended up scoring an amazing deal with the car with love that is LOADED! We are both thrilled! It is a maroon 2012 Nissan Maxima. It has a sunroof, is the sports edition, keyless, the whole nine yards!! I am spoiled what can I say :) Bye bye banged up focus!! It was fun to drive home and soak in that new car smell! We are so excited!!

Well that is all to get caught up... I know it was a lot. I am going to keep it caught up now that's for sure! For the final picture, I snapped a shot at sunset from the 7th floor of our hotel in Spokane. So beautiful!! It took my breath away!

We are counting down the days until summer and gearing up for trips to Twin Falls, camping with friends in July, and whatever else life throws at us :)

Vday {2013}

I was oober excited for Valentine's Day this year! Not that it should be any different than any other day, but sometimes we get busy with work and our daily routine to focus just on "us" for a day :) This was our first Vday together not only as a married couple, but even being together almost 4 years. We were always either broke up for Vday or apart for some reason. This made yesterday even more special for another "first" in our marriage and relationship :)

First off, there is a little story behind Jordan's love day planning. A few weeks ago I had been running errands and came across a super cute purse. I casually looked at it and admired how cute it was, but nevertheless kept going with my tasks to do. After all, I can't even remember the last time I bought a brand new purse and frankly it is hard for me to justify spending a lot of money on a purse instead of in it :) Later that night, Jordan asked me how my day was and I started to tell him all the places I went and about my busy day. I casually mentioned the cute purse that I saw at a random store(like I do with EVERY cute thing I see) and kept going with how my day went.

So come the night before Valentine's day, after we laid down to go to bed, I made a stupid excuse to go out into the kitchen so I could set up Jordan's little Vday gifts :) I got him a mini stuffed Gorilla, chocolates, a card, some candy, and NBA 2K13 game for his Playstation 3.

In the morning, I went into the kitchen to make my lunch before work and glanced on the table to find.....THE CUTE PURSE I SAW IN THE STORE AND TOLD HIM ABOUT!! I was in shock seriously! I never told him which store or the brand or anything! All I told him was the color and that it had a buckle on the front! He is the best seriously.. I love it!

I later was delivered 2 dozen roses at work with the sweetest note... I have the best hubby! He really melted my heart that is for sure! After work, we had an amazing dinner at Red Lobster. Jordan even got all dressed up and looked like a million bucks. I really am a lucky girl! We came back to the house to relax and cuddle and watch a movie :) It really was the best day!

It's days like those that I am reminded just how lucky I am to be married to Jordan and how amazing of a husband he is :) I love him more than ever and am so excited to get to spend forever with him :)

ITCHING for warmer weather!!!

We are sooo over the cold weather! Winter in Lewiston is awful! Not awfully cold, just awfully boring. There isn't much to do besides stay inside and watch TV. Lately the weather has been getting up into the 50s and for us you woulda thought it broke 100! We are excited to go camping this summer with all our new camping stuff we got for Christmas! So many great places up here close by that would be gorgeous to spend overnight at! We spent last weekend outside doing fun recreational stuff and walks. It was great! So nice to get outside and have hope that there IS warmer weather coming :)

Wow we made it to February! The year is flyin by already! Nothing too exciting at the Martitz house :) Just the usual update about our boring lives! The biggest piece of news is DRUMROLL..... We finally have our house decorated and things hung on the walls!!! Exciting huh?! lol It has been a challenge to get things up and situated even though we have been living here since July. Working full time doesn't help! Decorating was pretty much the last priority on my list, but it is done! Love how it all turned out and can't wait to keep getting more up :) That's code for It's ok for you to come visit us now :)

The flu crap has been goin around here too and got both of us at different times! Jordan had it most recently and powered through it like a champ! He was pretty sick, but went to work barely being able to stand. Poor guy! He came home and crashed on the couch and was OUT! So happy we are both feeling better :)

We are both busy with work as usual but sneak away to have some fun occasionally ;) Jordan is loving his PS3 that he got for christmas! He can play with his best friends from California and talk to them with his bluetooth :) It's hilarious to watch them play with random yells and screams at each other lol It gets intense sometimes! Caught him in action the other night with this shot :)

I  try to stay sane on my day off working on photography and graphic design stuff. LOVE days off :) Can't wait to be able to start doing sessions again when the weather warms up! I have bough several new props that I am dying to try out :) I have a newborn session coming up and I am so excited!!

We are trying to hold out for our big California trip! We are down to a little over a month! It has been exciting making plans with some of Jordan's friends while we are there and getting tickets for Disneyland with my family :) It will be one heck of a trip that is for sure! Flights are booked and we can't wait to go :)

As usual we are still playing volleyball a few nights a week and staying pretty busy :) Hopefully I will have more exciting things and stories to tell next time :) Until then, Happy February!

{NEW} year, {NEW} adventures, {BETTER} us!

The new year has come and we are so excited for all the new adventures 2013 will bring! I have never done "set" new years resolutions, so this year I promised myself to just try to be a better person. People get caught up in exact things they want to do and most don't stick. I wanted to be different than that. I brainstormed things I want to work on and it all sums up into being a better wife, friend, & daughter of God. Here is what I cam up with in a mish mash of words :) I can use this as a constant reminder and pick at least one thing a day to focus on doing.

We have some exciting plans already put into action for this year!! Several of my cousins will be leaving for missions this year, so we are doing a big family trip with ALL of my mom's side of the family to....DISNEYLAND!! We are sooo excited and can't wait for March to come! We will be flying to California and will be there for about a week and a half :) Since Jordan is originally from California, we will get to catch up with his friends and family while we are there! It will be quite the trip between Disneyland, the beach, and LOTS of shopping :) :) Can't wait!

Until then, we are keeping busy!

 Jordan has been crazy busy with work between installs, and his end of the year sales to meet budget! His district made budget for the year so they get to have a celebratory meeting and fun at a big hotel in Spokane. I couldn't be more proud of him! He is such a hard worker and does so much to provide for us. I am blessed with an amazing husband!

I recently received a big promotion at work after only being there 3 months! I am extremely grateful for this opportunity and truly love my job. It has been a great transition! I am now the Office Manager for the Lewiston Dental office. WOW! We have such a great team and I can't wait to make our office the best it can be :)

As of January 7th, we have been married for 6 months!! Time flies and we couldn't be happier :) We learn more about each other everyday. Jordan keeps me laughing and I make sure he is well taken care of :)

We have been extremely blessed and hope you are starting 2013 with a BANG!

Nothing is better than going {HOME} for the {HOLIDAYS}

December was a whirlwind as previously posted, but we were able to go home to Twin Falls for Christmas! Honestly, the meaning of family changes so much once you get older. We truly enjoyed spending time with family for the holidays! Here is the recap :)

First off, the drive down to Twin Falls was HORRIBLE!!! Our 7 hour drive turned into about 10. We hit a huge snowstorm, a lot of traffic, and then a fatal accident to which we were stopped for an hour straight! Needless to say, we were SO happy to finally get there out of the car!!

Christmas Eve brought tubing and skiing at Magic Mountain with both families. What a fun day :) It was freezing, but we had a blast and have a few pics to show for it :) Trent, Riley, Dallin, Justin, and my dad skied while the rest of us tubed!

After a long cold day in the hills, we came back to my Grandma Rice's house for Christmas Eve festivities! We had a super yummy meal with more food than we could handle (surprise surprise!) After we ate, Sherri brought her pipe chimes for Christmas songs, our favorite!

Due to jumping back and forth between families on Christmas, we started Christmas morning at 7:30am!!! Ya it was way way early which is why we look dead in a few photos :) We did Christmas morning at Jordan's parents house and then went to my family's house. Here is a summary of Christmas in photos :) Our first Christmas a married couple!

Jordan was spoiled between the families and me :) He got several dress shirts for work, new puma shoes, a Playstation 3, a HUGE tent, camping chairs, a car bike rack, and much more :)

I was spoiled as well between the families and from Jordan! I got lots of cricut stuff, jewelry, and new FHI straightener, silver jeans, music, a red electric can opener, my laptop from black Friday, and much more :)

We finished off Christmas with going to see "Parental Guidance" with both families!! Soo hilarious! GO see it. You will love it!

We are sad to see the holidays go, but look forward to all the wonderful things to come in 2013!
